Just FYI, I bought my CD versions at Deep Discount for $19.54 after their usual 15% coupon which is a steal.
The Doors Live At The Matrix on DeepDiscount
I don't understand why anyone would buy a vinyl version when a CD version is available but if that is your thing, DD also has the vinyl version regularly for $97.71 and if you use one of their normal 15% coupons, it brings it down to $83.05. But an additional shipping charge of $3.99 applies but you still get it cheaper than Amazon.

I know many people currently love vinyl and most vinyl lovers I know from that time despised CD. They never could give a very good answer other than they liked bigger art sleeves and the old "warmer sound" take but I grew up with vinyl and despised the medium even as a kid. I don't understand the vinyl resurgence especially when music/sound engineer after sound engineer have stated that if you want the best possibly sounding version available, then CD is it. If you want the closest quality that came off the soundboard, then CD is the way to go, and I have never seen that disputed. I have always thought the "warmth" stuff is horseshit. I have done my personal comparisons, and it is never even close for me. And yes, I know there are tons of variables.
But to each his own. Not trying to turn this thread into a vinyl vs. CD argument but I just don't get it. Maybe it is just me.
I probably shouldn't have put my comment in there.
What is really bullshit is the difference they are charging between the vinyl and the CD. Now that is something people should be pissed about.

No question there are a lot of high quality CDs out there (and a lot of low quality vinyl albums, as well). There is just something about great sounding vinyl that I enjoy. The best part of downloading vinyl albums, for me, is that I can decide which songs/artists to include when creating a custom CD. Plus, I can tweak the EQ settings, remove the clicks & pops, etc., to improve the sound quality. Not to mention editing the songs themselves if I'd like to extend a great guitar solo for example, or remove Yoko Ono's vocals something altogether.
Completely agree ...

It should also be mentioned on the CD set some customers are getting two disc 1's or two disc 2's. No mention yet if the Doors will replace mistakes like that.
I'm getting a copy from Rarewaves.

Buying all these songs once again simply for the Atmos mixes. Already have the regular surround tracks from the old DVD-A set.

How good do you think they will sound on Atmos? I once owned the old L.A. Woman DVD-A but cannot for the life of me remember the quality since it was so long ago, and I only listened to it a few times. Is this release exclusive to their website?
The Best Of The Doors actually got me high one night without even smoking some weed. I was driving alone on a dark, deserted country road late one night in Alabama during college and listening to the CD. I swear I got baked without smoking anything! Probably was just very tired but it sure as hell felt like a pot high. I actually had to roll down the window, pull over for a few minutes and change music. And I wasn't sleepy. Just felt totally stoned.
It was one of the strangest experiences I have ever had with music, and I remember it like it was yesterday. Looking back, it was over 30 years ago. Sob!

It is also on the Rhino store for preorder. I have the SACDs of the six albums that have a 5.1 layer and the first album didn't have anything in the surround channels because of the way the original album was recorded. One of the other albums didn't have anything in the sub. I wonder how they will do an ATMOS mix of those songs here?

Wish they would have announced all 6 albums in Dolby Atmos.
Wish it was THE VERY BEST OF THE DOORS (2007) Dolby Atmos release instead.
Yes I'm getting this release ., this was my first DOORS CD I bought back in 1991.

This is the Doors, the six albums are probably already mixed in ATMOS but they want you to buy the Best Of first. The ATMOS mixes will be released and then another greatest hits and then a singles collection and then...

The Best of The Doors is imo one of the greatest compilations ever put together. Outside of their debut, which i got as part of a huge record collection I bought, it’s the only Doors album I’ve ever owned and all I really need. May pick up a live recording at some point but if i don’t i feel i’m good on the group.

Doors don't have a huge back catalog like most classic groups. I think everyone should own their 6 core albums, skipping the mediocre post-Morrison stuff.
