RIP: Christine McVie (Fleetwood Mac)
A shame. And “Everywhere” is having resurgence being in that Chevy commercial.
I was glad I got to see them when she rejoined the band a few years ago.

OK, this one really hurts. Fleetwood Mac was my very first concert ever. And I adored them. Heartbroken.

Dammit. I loved her and the Mac. Was my first concert as well, Tusk Tour, 1979.
Saw them tour with her in 2018.

Bummer that I never saw a Fleetwood Mac gig. I did catch the Buckingham/Mcvie show a few years back, though, so I was able to see her.

Yeah, I never got to see Fleetwood Mac either, but this is a real bummer. I always preferred Christine McVie as the female voice of the band over Stevie Nicks. You Make Lovin' Fun and Hold Me are two of my favorite Mac songs, probably my favorite ones that don't feature Lindsay as the sole vocalist. RIP.

Really sad news. I've loved them since the 70's. Christine was my favorite lead singer of the band. I even made a CD compilation of all the FM songs she sang lead on and a few of her solos. I'll be putting that one on tonight at work.
I saw them in concert back in the late 80's. Good show.

Part of an incredible musical experience that made a huge impact on rock over the years. Maybe I'll spin up that concert DVD tonight.

Yeah, this is rather shocking. I've always really liked Christine's music, both with Fleetwood Mac and her solo stuff.
Here are my two favorites that she wrote and sang:

That's a huge loss.
I was hoping we'd get another Fleetwood Mac studio album with the 5 classic members. The last time that happened was 1987's "Tango in the Night" - a whopping 35 years ago (she only had keyboards/backing vocals contributions on 2 tracks on 2003's "Say You Will" album).
This one really bites.
Oddly enough, just today I was thinking that at some point in the not too distant future we're going to hear about some major artists dying like Paul McCartney or Mick Jagger, etc.... and those artists that die who are in bands will wind up putting an end to those bands (ie. Jagger).

I was not aware of this. I know she retired from touring in 1990. And stated it was either because she was tired of traveling or afraid to fly. But vividly remember her saying she just wanted to stay home and paint. And yet they lured her back for "The Dance" tour in 1997. But then she wasn't on that on that "Say You Will" album or tour 6 years later. Was that the reason she was absent then? She toured with them again after that.

"Warm Ways" really stood out to me when the Fleetwood Mac album came out. Same with "Brown Eyes" on Tusk.
"Isn't It Midnight" flat out rocks. Best song on the album.
The song that I think was her absolute best was "Oh Daddy". The live version on the 2 disc Rumours is fantastic.
This is sad.

Still it's such a shame that they kicked Lindsey out of the band before the 2018 tour. I have seen them at least four times (as well as Stevie solo and Lindsey and Christine) but not all of them together since that 1979 show.

I haven't paid much attention to Fleetwood Mac since Tusk, and yet hearing about her death still makes me sad.
When I bought Rumours, I dropped the needle and listened to all those bright sparkly pop songs that I'd heard on the radio. Then the mood took a sudden turn and I heard Songbird for the first time. It took a few plays to get used to it, but I came to love that song. Not many artists have touched me like that.

She had back issues and touring was hard for her. Plus the interpersonal dynamics which must have been awful.
