Here's some done by Cheap Trick, methinks:
Magical Mystery Tour (The Beatles)
Ain't That a Shame (Fats Domino)
California Man (The Move)
Elvis Presley (Don't Be Cruel)
Also:
Donovan - Steve Hillage (Hurdy Gurdy Man)
Tommy James & the Shondells - Joan Jett & the Blackhearts (Crimson & Clover)
Chuck Berry - The Beatles - ELO (Roll Over Beethoven)
Pink Floyd - Voivod (Astronomy Domine)
The Kinks - Pretenders (Stop Your Sobbing)
and
Frank Sinatra - Sid Vicious (My Way)
This was first sung by Little Eva back in the early 60's
My 70 year old brain is aching from this!! I need a nap!!

The Tears For Fears(lead singer) and Gary Jules (can't remember song title) performed the same song together on YouTube years ago(I doubt if it was recorded for a CD).
These two artists were mentioned earlier in the thread but I don't think there has been any response.
Still no response for possibly the 2 greatest R-n-R bands of all-time(Beatles-Rolling Stones) doing the same song.
I know my memory is 4 the shits so that same song was probably also done in the 1950's by a group or artist but can't remember for sure.

I thought a couple of the songs below were layups, but the fact that there've been no guesses would suggest otherwise. Here are some hints:
The hint I had in mind is Donnie Darko. I believe the Jules version of the song was commissioned for that film.
Mony Mony.
Tears For Fears - Gary Jules (see comment below)
Michael Jackson - Alien Ant Farm (refers to a woman in the chorus whose name is not in the title)
Joni Mitchell - Counting Crows (Crows version used in a montage in Two Weeks Notice)
Atmospherics - Pukka Orchestra (the original is pretty obscure, and the cover version still gets played on '80s rock and pop stations...at least up here in Canada)
Don Henley - The Ataris (the Henley song had a pretty decent run on the AT40 Hot 100 in 1985)
Talk Talk - No Doubt (in the No Doubt music video, Gwen Stefani riffs on Jean Harlow)
Cranberries - Bad Wolves (think TWD)

That was a Lennon/McCartney original, given to the Stones first before recorded by the Beatles themselves.

Tears For Fears - Gary Jules (see above)
Joni Mitchell - Counting Crows (Crows version used in a montage in Two Weeks Notice) - Big Yellow Taxi (I really like the CC version)
Talk Talk - No Doubt (in the No Doubt music video, Gwen Stefani riffs on Jean Harlow) It's My Life (both versions great)

By the way, some of you guys are posting pairs of songs with more than one correct answer.
Like for Slade/Quiet Riot, while the obvious answer is Cum on Feel the Noize, Mama Weer all Crazee Now is correct too.
Same with Kinks/Van Halen. In addition to You Really Got Me, you could also say Where Have All the Good Times Gone.
And for Ritchie Valens/Los Lobos, the East LA rockers did EVERY Valens song on the La Bamba soundtrack so there's like 8 or 9 answers there. The title track, Come On Let's Go, Donna, Framed, etc etc

As for the remaining ones...
Michael Jackson - Alien Ant Farm - 'Smooth Criminal'
Don Henley - The Ataris- 'The Boys of Summer'
Cranberries - Bad Wolves - 'Zombie'
The hardest one would have to be...
Atmospherics - Pukka Orchestra
...thanks to a lack of airplay outside Canada. Here's the song in question:

Not the same song, but here's a little trivia over two songs with the same title. In 1988, Bobby Brown’s “Don’t Be Cruel” (original) was in the Top 10 the same time as Cheap Trick’s “Don’t Be Cruel” (cover of the Elvis classic).
