If there were to be an in-person ceremony, and she was to be inducted (and she most definitely should be!), would Kate Bush attend I wonder? Seems unlikely. I guess virtual again.

Go Go's at last! Clearly the documentary helped.

Absurd that Iron Maiden and Kate Bush haven't been inducted ages ago

BTW This is the end of the line - The Foo Fighters will be the last Rock Band inducted in their first year of eligibility. From here on out, every first-ballot inductee will be in the genre of pop, rap or hip hop. Every rock artist inducted will be an oversight rectified.
Can't even think of another rock band who could even make the list of nominees on their first year.

The Strokes in a few years is possible. That was hugely influential on early 2000s.
Arcade Fire. The White Stripes.

Maybe the Killers?

Any of the older grunge-era that haven’t gotten in?

Alice In Chains? Soundgarden? STP?

Any chance for them?

That said, there will always be rock acts that come along.

edit: Oops, you’d said first ballot

Coldplay is a possible first-ballot inductee.

Maybe I'm just a fanboy, but I still don't understand why Phish isn't on the list. They are a huge band, with a cultural impact, and redefined the genre they are in.

I know I could look this up, but is this Tina Turner nomination separate from Ike and Tina Turner? And were they already inducted? 'cuz they should be.

"Weird" Al is not on that list. Screw that.

Tina Turner is an icon but doesn't need separate induction as a solo performer for What's Love Got to Do With It and the Beyond Thunderdome song.

The White Stripes?
Maroon 5?

I think The Killers and The Strokes might have a chance; they seem like the kind of bands that the RRHOF would be drawn to even if their cultural relevance was spent a decade ago.

Admittedly, it's a thin list.

I wouldn't object to Slipknot getting in, but it's probably a longshot... (I think KoRn missed their chance to get in the year they were eligible.)

God... it's weird to think that bands like KoRn and Slipknot have been around for a quarter of a century.

That would make for an interesting all-star jam at the end of the ceremony.

How about Jethro Tull?

Multiple Platinum albums, multiple sold out arena tours, massively influential, amazingly creative - and they haven't even been nominated if I remember right!

Re: 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees

Oh, I think the Go-Go's are a shoo-in, mostly due to the documentary. The HoF got called out by name in that, and they'll correct the mistake ASAP rather than let it be argued about for another year.
