Re: Megadeth / Lamb of God tour announced

Unless there's more to this story that hasn't been publicly revealed or confirmed, it seems like a dick move to fire Ellefson. The woman involved was, apparently, at least eighteen years old, which makes her a consenting adult.

The entertainment industry doesn't seem to be punishing actresses who get private sex videos released, so it's ridiculous for a metal band to fire one of their members for the same.

And, of course, the press release from Mustaine has some passive-aggressive language in it ("already strained relationship"), Dave might have been looking for any excuse to give Junior his walking papers.

Yea it's very clear Dave was looking for any good reason to let him go, and this was the opportunity.

Ellefson hasn't been a "real" Megadeth member for years. Ever since he came back he's been a hired hand. Which is kind of ironic as it's his hand that got him fired.

Let's hope he bounces back into a major band, team up with Kerry King on a Slayer reboot, something of that caliber.

The youth group loved Lamb of God tonight! I admit, a little loud for ol' story, and I couldn't quite make out all the words, but the kids seemed quite into it. I gave them some cash to get shirts to wear when they tell everybody all about it next week. Let's hear it for that Resurrection Man!

If you are looking for more metal bands with religious sounding names, here are a pair touring together in your area. Looks like an 18 and over only show though.

StubHub apologizes for mix-up involving heavy metal band Lamb of God, Christian concert

That is like some sort of awesome accidental cultural exchange trip where hijinks ensure and the real treasure was the friends you made along the way.

Why the first thing that occurred to me when I saw this article was your post from over four years ago, I'll never know!

Re: Megadeth / Lamb of God tour announced

I saw the news story earlier this week and honestly, there was a dim echo in my memory saying, hmm, this is somehow familiar! I do like that it went the opposite way as my bit, for who showed up at the wrong show!
