Artists and Ticketmaster sure are doing their best to protect some fans from some scalpers by making it harder for all fans to get tickets.

To be brutally honest, I'm surprised that Pearl Jam is still apparently popular enough to warrant all of this fuss over getting tickets.

Seems like they really fell off of the pop culture radar after Vitalogy, and stayed there. Vitalogy was one-half third Pearl Jam's third album and one-half indulgent and pretentious twaddle, and they seemingly went into a self-imposed exile from the mainstream.

Yeah, I don’t think they’ve necessarily wanted to be a mainstream band for a long time. They have their audience which is still a decent size fanbase but they don’t really make music to top the charts.

I do agree with the comment that some artists seem to try so hard to fight off scalpers that it just makes it hard for anyone to get tickets.

I have really enjoyed all of their new stuff since Backspacer. My daughter has really become a big fan too. She's really into older music though. Her other favorite bands at the moment are The Cure and Radiohead. She's 13. Pearl Jam is the only one of those that I'm responsible for her picking up.

Most of them and especially Vedder never wanted to be rock super stars. They just wanted to make music and make a living doing it. The only member that wanted the full rock and roll lifestyle was Dave Abbruzzese and he was fired for drug use.

It’s still easier to get tickets now than in 96 when they ditched Ticketmaster. They have been trying to control prices longer than most. Hell even Springsteen threw in the towel with his latest tour.

I got a slot - wholly hell the ticket prices are insane! I thought they were going to follow The Cures ticket pricing and sells but they only followed the verified fan part.

In Dallas the section beyond the floor (all sold out) were $900. Upper section right off the floor were $400-500 and the very top section was $167.

Those must've been Premium tickets. They usually have one price for all tickets. $167 with fees sounds about the standard.

Re: Pearl Jam: Gigaton - 3/27/20 (New Album + Tour)

So my fiancée and I may be going to Pearl Jam in St. Paul on August 31st. I randomly opened the Ticketmaster app and did a search and there are tickets available. I was supposedly on a waiting list and was to receive a text but got nothing.

Anyways she looked at her credit card rewards and found she can use them towards tickets anx is able to get a pretty big amount off using points. Still paying $280, but I’m thinking the tickets are a bit better than average.

If I figured things out correctly our tickets would work out to like $365-ish a piece if we were to outright buy them. The ones I found on Ticketmaster were $167 for crappy seats and they went to pretty outrageous prices otherwise (between like $500-$800 a piece depending where they’d be at). Love Pearl Jam but I wouldn’t pay that much.

Re: Pearl Jam: Gigaton - 3/27/20 (New Album + Tour)

Glad you found tickets. DM me if you want to meet in the hallway after the opener so we can complain about dex14 together in person!

We had our seats changed a second and hopefully final time.

First seats were in the middle of row 20 in a 100s section just less than halfway across the stadium. Close, but a little high, and no end seats.

Second seats were in the middle of row 3 in a 100s section just at halfway across the stadium, Not as close, but way low, and no end seats.

Final seats are at the end of row 19 in a 100s section just over halfway across the stadium. Further, a little high, and now end seats.

Each had their merits - closer or lower or end seats - and at this point I just want their ticket club stuff to be done and over with, it's frustrating.
