Re: Tool - Fear Inoculum - August 30, 2019 -- IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING

I dunno, I saw Tool live a couple months ago and never had any of those issues. Of course, it was in a festival setting, Maynard was more front and center, and they did two songs off each album. Was fun.

Edit - Nevermind. It was 1 off Undertow and 1 off Opiate.

Pretty much the same here. I saw them as one of the festival headliners last year, and they might as well have been just pumping in the audio and had mannequins on stage. Maynard was blacked out in the back corner.

I really wonder if Maynard's ego alone had more to do with the band not releasing an album in 13 years over all the legal issues reported.

Judging by the riffs, probably not.

Looks like the CD is sold out on amazon and Wal-Mart.

No, he's pretty much said he would've liked to release a Tool album sooner, but the music came to him (for him to write the words/melodies) really slowly this time, kinda putting it on the other band members.

True, he said on Rogan's podcast that the reason for no tools albums being allowed on streaming platforms was because of the other band members as well.

Considering APC and Puscifer have been streaming from the get go, that makes sense.

New song is a bit underwhelming but surely there will be a couple kick ass songs on the album, even though they will all be real long. One of the band members said there were only 7 actual songs and a couple interlude thingies. That means there are only 4 more songs that nobody has heard, considering they’ve been playing Descending and Invincible on tour for a little bit.

I always thought Tool was kind of overrated. Their music was never much more than "Eh, they're okay" for me, but they had great videos. They probably owe a lot of their success to the Quay brothers (who didn't actually direct their videos even though everyone thinks they did.)

Apparently the album is "out there" to be had if you know how to do that sort of thing. Everyone seems to really love it so far. Can't wait, five more days.

Rumor is wrong. It's just a long Tool song.

Album's good. Really good!

Though the digital HD/Flac sounds really good - great production/sound-field - I just need to hear it on a well-mastered vinyl.

It’s up on Amazon Music, so presumably also on Spotify or whatever else is out there.

7empest is brilliant. My favorite from the album. This may change with time, since I’ve only been through beginning to end once.
Also, Chocolate Chip Trip reminds me a whole hell of a lot of Drums/Space from the multitude of Grateful Dead shows I’ve listened to.

YEAH, "Tempest" is a great freaking song, nearly 16 minutes long. Jones kills the guitar on that one.

7emptest is pretty good - way too damn long though (15:44) Listening to Pneuma now and I'm liking this one a lot as well.

By the way, the packaging and artwork are outstanding, when you open the flaps on the case, there is a screen that starts playing music and video. You can turn the volume up and down and pause it. They even give you a USB charger for the battery. Very cool.

The album is excellent. Is it worth a 13 year wait? No. But it is excellent.

I waited 17 years between Carcass albums. Totally worth it.

Re: Tool - Fear Inoculum - August 30, 2019 -- IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING

Just finished listening to the entire album, first, the 3 songs left off the album for digital only are just the filler songs (but two of them are actually pretty decent even though short) so you're not missing much.

For me, this is the most technically sound this band has ever been - they sound so damn fresh and new on this album.

Tracks I'm just not into: Fear Inoculum, Descending.

The good tracks: Pneuma, Invincible, 7empest.

The best track on the album (currently for me): Culling Voices.

Good track that you may or may not listen to often as it was made for a drum solo (not a bad thing but you just may not find yourself repeating this one often): Chocolate Chip Trip.

The filler tracks/download only tracks: Litanie contre la peur, Legion Inoculant, Mocking beat (this one should have been left off completely).

Don't forget, the artwork is awesome, even if you're not into buying CD's, it's still worth it.

Re: Tool - Fear Inoculum - August 30, 2019 -- IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING

Amazon Music has the 3 filler tracks. When you say it’s not on digital do you mean they weren’t in the leak, or aren’t included in the download code? I took that to mean streaming platforms, but unless Amazon got a one-up on Spotify, Apple, etc, then it should all be there.
