Is it worth it to catch the Slash with Myles Kennedy concert? They will be 1.5 hours away later this year and my wife is an insane GNR fan. Last year I was able to take her to GNR for her b-day (also 1.5 hours from here) and Slash will be here for her b-day this year. Is his show worth going to? Cost isn't much, $60 after fees.

Yes, I'm sure they'll play a lot of songs off of the Slash Solo album which is exceptional. I know they did two full albums together, but I haven't got to listen to them yet. I had fun when I went to their show.

Keep in mind that Slash's band will possibly out supporting their new album so there may be fewer GNR songs played on this tour vs those it the past.

Thanks guys. I may have under sold it when I said she was a huge GnR fan. Not just the total sum, but all of the parts, she has like everything any of them (main 3 at least) have done separately and has read all of their biographies. She doesn't keep up with concerts so she has no clue he is coming, so I'll give this a shot.

And it's still way to high for what you get. I have no idea where they got their crazy price point for that set.

I am still waiting for the Super Deluxe version to hit a decent price.

Yeah, both of these sets are way too pricey for what you get. Maybe I'm spoiled from getting really nice Metallica box sets at a fraction of the GNR prices.

I've seen Slash solo 3 times (once with Snake pit and twice with Conspirators) and it's been a great show each time.

Wow. Down to $99 right now. Wish I had waited instead of pre-ordering it.

Me too, for just CDs. Really wish this set included a vinyl copy as well.

I am glad that there is no vinyl, that's the main reason I haven't picked up any of the Metallica sets.

Re: Massive Appetite for Destruction box coming 6/29

I received an email earlier from the Guns n' Roses website that the massive boxset was on sale for $499 and the deluxe set was on sale for $89. Still too much for me, but maybe it will drop down some more.

Re: Massive Appetite for Destruction box coming 6/29

I got this on Dec 23 for my b-day from my brother and really dig it. The sessions are all new to me and I really love the 5.1 mix. I think out of the recent 5.1 mixes that I have gotten lately it is my favorite. I also think Paradise City from the sessions smokes the official release version.

Now bring on the Illusion albums in 5.1 surround.

You're telling me two GnR threads have been bumped in recent days and neither was about this picture?!?!

Axl looks like he had work and then had the work undone. The real question is who is Max and who is Geraldine?

I am also thinking about the OKC show. I have driven to OKC from Tulsa a few times to see the likes of Iron Maiden, Tool and Motley Crue so I think I can do it for GNR. It all depends on ticket prices. Also, they need to announce an Illusion set like the one Appetite received.

My wife is a die hard fan, we drove to Tulsa two years ago to see them, so coming to town is no question. I do wonder about prices. At the BOK we were upper level on the side of the stage (good seats IMO) and they were around $350 for the pair. She was upset we didn't have better seats until I showed her pricing. Floor were $700-1200 each.

$700-$1200 ? Whoa. I remember seeing them from the front few rows at Manchester Apollo in 1987 for 5 pounds !

That was before "Appetite" broke, of course. The upstairs was actually closed that night as the place was only half full.

For $1200 Paul and Ringo would have to break out an ouija board and get John and George on stage.

That's crazy. I saw them at the Georgia Dome in 2016. We were in row 12 of the front center section and paid around $200 per ticket.
