Just a heads up, on GNR's official site, the Locked and Loaded set is down to $399, and the Super Deluxe CD/BD set is $40 (60% off). Free shipping in the US and you save another 10% if you use the code GNR10. I picked up the CD/BD set, I'd love the Locked and Loaded set, but after spending $125-150 a pop for comparable Metallica box sets, I still can't justify $400 for that one, $200 would probably be my max. I already bought the double vinyl anyway, so I think I'm good for this album now.

Guess they finally figured out they had both sets were way overpriced. I hate to say it but I believe my girlfriend paid over $100 for the CD super deluxe set for me at x-mas time.

My brother paid $125 in December for the one he bought me for my birthday. I told him about the sale price and he said that since I have listened to it so much since getting it that he got his moneys worth.

For those that missed out on the GNR site sale it looks like like the deluxe is going to be on sale as part of Prime Day on amazon in a few hours. I doubt it goes to $40 though.

Looks like it is $75 on Prime Day. Hate that I missed it for $36.

Cool, I'm glad that a lot of you guys could take advantage of this. Man, I'm just thinking, I was thrilled to pay $30 back in 1990 for the bootleg GNR CD "No Refrain", which has a mere fraction of the songs available in this set (maybe a dozen songs) and in much lesser quality. But on the plus side, it also contained an early version of "November Rain" just featuring Axl on a piano. First time I heard the song, that was worth it alone for me (I hope that track is included on the inevitable Use Your Illusion reissues, in better quality, it's a fantastic version of the song, I much prefer it to the album version).

This was in the days when Appetite For Destruction was just released, and they were not that popular at the time.
I thought they sounded horrible live in those days. I didn't know any of their songs at the time, but the drums and bass were barely coherent and sounded like they were slightly off. The guitars were covered up and/or really low in the mix.
If I had to guess, it sounded like they were really drunk/stoned on stage. I have never seen them live since.

I didn't pick up any of their cds until well after they faded away from the public view. (ie. After grunge killed off hairspray metal).
I never would have thought Izzy Stradlin was an expert songwriter, from the time I saw GNR play really horribly live back in the day ^

Oh wow it is? Awesome, I must have missed that on Spotify. I just assumed that it wasn't included and they were saving it for the eventual UYI set, as none of the early versions of "Don't Cry" are included here. But I'm thrilled that this version of November Rain is included. Now, if I can only get a shipping notice.

I wouldn't be surprised if producer Mike Clink was the key to cleaning them up in the studio, so that Appetite and the two Illusions albums were actually bearable to listen to.
A generation before, it would be similar to how Bob Ezrin cleand up Alice Cooper's band in the studio, which created classics like Love It To Death, School's Out, etc ... which didn't sound like complete garbage.

Hopefully they were marking them down to clear out warehouse space to house the upcoming Use Your Illusion box set.

Man, that set will be a monster. I'm guessing perhaps a 2021 release for the 30th anniversary? That set should have some really interesting things on it (it better have the original recordings of "Don't Cry" and "You Could Be Mine", the latter of which was recorded for AFD but dropped from the track list late in the game, although I really wish they were on this set like the original recordings of "November Rain" and "Back Off Bitch" were. Not really sure why it's inconsistent like that).
