U2 Songs of Experience
Looks like the Promo Tour is about to begin...
The Blackout (above) arrives Aug 30, and "The Best Thing" (first single) arrives Sept 6. Album rumored to be released Dec 1. They are still wrapping up the 30th Anniversary of The Joshua Tree tour and will be touring that until October. Album out end of the year, and they go back to arenas (using the I&E staging) sometime next year (Spring?) |
Re: U2 Songs of Experience
What exactly is The Blackout?

Re: U2 Songs of Experience
Sounds like it's their first single?

If SoE is as good as SoI, I will definitely see them again on that tour. Wish I had seen the SoI tour.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience
Listened to ‘You’re The Best Thing About Me’ today and thought it was alright.

How do I delete this from my iPhone?

Re: U2 Songs of Experience
Did they peak with All That You Can Leave Behind and How to Dismantle at Atomic Bomb?
Their last 2 albums did not produce a lot of hit singles though I still like some of the songs on those records. |

Their last 2 albums did not produce a lot of hit singles though I still like some of the songs on those records. IMO, they peaked with Achtung Baby. |

Re: U2 Songs of Experience
They peaked with Zooropa but Songs of Innocence was a welcome return to form for them.
|
Re: U2 Songs of Experience
I am the outlier here. I think Songs Of Innocence is down there at the bottom of their catalog along with Zooropa and Pop. I do not like the new single very much.
I think All That You Can't Leave Behind is one of their better albums. |
Re: U2 Songs of Experience
I thought Songs of Innocence was ok, not great. There were a couple tracks I really enjoyed like "The Miracle" and "Iris". I thought it was definitely a better album than "No Line on the Horizon". I also thought HTDAAB was pretty good but imo their last truly great album was All That You Can't Leave Behind. None of their albums released since have come close to it.

POP>>>ATYCLB I find a lot of their later, major-key songs to be a bit bland and unmemorable. |
Re: U2 Songs of Experience
I also think there are a lot of great songs on Pop. To me it sounds a little unfinished, but it's a really strong record overall.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience
You're all insane. Pop is their worst record by far!
