Actually email was from Ticketmaster and U2.com support had no idea what I was talking about. I had to forward them the email.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience
So I tried the onsale today with my new non fan club Verified Fan code and zero luck again. Unreal. Oh and the news that apparently our previous fan club status will not work with any additional shows is really the icing on the cake. In the past if you didn't use your allotment of tickets for shows originally announced you could still use them later on additional shows but apparently not this time according to the forums on U2.com as of this weekend. There were many posters who said they were told by U2 support that if any shows are added, the fact that they had unused ticket allotments would not count. WTF is wrong with them?

Another bad day for U2 fans trying for tickets. I was able to grab a single GA for Tulsa, but man, no good seats at less than the top price ($330+fees)...Lots of people shut out. This is the worst I've seen in my entire fandom of U2. (which started in '83)

Chris, do you know anything about how the show will be from behind the stage? I guess I should be happy I got seats under $350 each, but I don't really want to just see their backs 95% of the time. I guess if it's like that Chicago clip above, it shouldn't be too bad...

Looks like they started adding some second shows in some markets. Hopefully I will have better luck getting tickets to those shows.

The problem with behind the stage, is you miss the massive screen that runs the length of the arena. Side views are the premium seat.

Success!!! GA in Boston for night 2 in about 2 minutes! This actually works out better as it is a Friday night which means no need to take time off work! Very happy with U2.com's response and them providing a code to get first access to the 2nd show despite being in the Innocence group due to my lapse.

Nice! I was pulling for you especially, Josh.
I got the leak the other day. (I have 4 copies of the album coming, so I don't feel bad) The good news, is all 5 of the songs that were released, actually work better in the context of the album. Some of them are growing on me and the other songs are even better.

Thanks! I missed out on the JT show as I couldn't do GA in that stadium due to health issues but those are getting better so looking forward to next June.
Speaking of the new album, am I supposed to get notification of the free copy for buying tickets?

You should get an email in the next day or so from Ticketmaster that lets you redeem for the CD. (Supposedly you can open it on Dec 1, and download a digital copy if that is what you want instead)

Re: U2 Songs of Experience
I believe you are supposed to get a free copy of the CD (or digital download) for each ticket you bought, so if you got 2 tickets, you should get 2 cds or 2 downloads.

Corrrect. I have 2 CD's coming, and I saved my 3rd ticket purchase to (see about) get a digital download since they said that was an option too.

Figured as much. Blah. I chose the physical version even though I don't even have a cd player anymore. Least I can give them out as gifts.
