Spotify or Google Music

I'm switching off Apple and just canceled my Apple Music sub. I've had Spotify in the past but it's been a couple of years. Should I consider joining Google Music (or whatever they call it) when I get my new phone or re-sign with Spotify?

Spotify typically runs 3-mo promotions for free (or near free) throughout the year. Perhaps wait for that before committing. Google Music may do something similar - I don't follow it closely so am not sure.

FWIW, I'm generally pleased with Spotify - both in content and quality. My only gripe is with the UI - not as intuitive as I'd like.

Spotify gets my money. Agree that the UI leaves a lot to be desired but I still like it more than the alternatives.

Yep, Spotify here too.

I believe Google Music lets you add your own MP3s (or whatever) that aren't in their system. Something Spotify flirted with but still doesn't do. Personally, I use Groove for streaming only songs in my own collection that aren't on Spotify, and I use Spotify for streaming everything else.

Spotify. You can stream music with your PS4 games. I like using that feature a lot.

Google Music is awesome, particularly if you're on Android as the integration works well. I really like the Google Music app, I've been using the service for a while and the app has been honed and honed for years. As a result, the app is very nicely designed and very stable at this point.

There are two other big benefits to Google Music:
1. YouTube Red is included. YouTube without ads is great.
2. YouTube Music is included. This is basically music video streaming. I've enjoyed kicking off a playlist and having the videos play through my Chromecast while I make dinner or whatever.
