RIP: Juan Gabriel - Dead at 66

Being Mexican - this dude's tunes would get cranked up to an 11 by moms. I guess he had just played The Forum on Friday and they say he died of a heart attack at his home in Santa Monica this morning. He was 66.

If you're Latino (or not) then you know this guy.

The guy was relatively young but it didn't look like he took care of himself in his later years.

My aunt LOVES the guy and even had a Juan Gabriel impersonator at her last birthday party. His music wasn't my go to but if I was in a Spanish listening mood, I'd listen to him.

He has been knocking on death's door for a few years. I worked in the concert ticketing industry up until last year. About a two years ago there were multiple reports that he died and shows were cancelled, etc. I give him props for still going on til he was dead.

His music is beautiful. I remember when he had that devastating fall and fell of stage and fucked himself up. That was an ugly and ridiculous fall.
