I'll have to disagree with you, Slayer's last album is outstanding, especially considering the loss of Hanneman. World Painted Blood was very good also.

Ironbound and Electric Age from Overkill are among their best albums. I'm looking forward to their new one coming in February. I already have tickets to their show in Chicago with Nile.

Yeah, the new Anthrax is great. When I put it on the first time, a smile immediately arrived on my face. It's pure Anthrax.

I guess I'm saying as perfect as the first three or four albums are from Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Overkill, Death Angel, etc... all of these other bands are putting out material at the same tier of excellence, but Metallica isn't anywhere close to the same quality, by any measure.

I hear a whole lot of "Hallowed Be Thy Name" in this new track.

It's probably the guitar harmonies - very Maiden-esque, but not really as memorable IMO.

Yeah, the recent two Anthrax releases have been fantastic. I've enjoyed the relaunching of Accept as well. It is possible for Metal bands to release awesome albums very late in their career.

Still reserving judgment until I hear this, but hard not to go in with the lowest of expectations. Maybe that's for the best. This is their last chance for me though.

Re: METALLICA: "HARDWIRED…TO SELF-DESTRUCT" 2CD/3CD Deluxe 11/18/16

Asked during an appearance on the August 29 edition of the SiriusXM satellite radio show "Eddie Trunk Live" if he has heard "Hardwired", Newsted said: "I can't believe how wicked it is. I heard it a couple of times. Somebody played it for me in a car, and I brought it home and listened to it a little bit. I like its nature. I like its teeth, man. It's great."

Newsted also confirmed that he is still in regular contact with the members of METALLICA. He said: "I've got a call with Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] coming up on Thursday here. I've been talking to him every couple of weeks. As they're coming out with their new record, there's a lot of stuff going on within the underpinnings of it all, or whatever you wanna call it, so we always are in touch. And now we've actually been doing voice-to-voice, which is nice, and I'm hoping to be able to get person-to-person before long. But they do have quite a bit to do here with this new record. So I'm excited for 'em, man. I'm proud of 'em."

Asked if he is still in touch with METALLICA simply as friends or if it's related to "business stuff" or if they are talking about possibly doing something together again, Newsted responded: "All those three." Jason, however, would not elaborate on the exact form a possible new collaboration with METALLICA would take.

Amazon deal is Prime only, so I went with Best Buy given the current free shipping option.

Thanks for the heads up.

I found it in the vinyl section of a large bookstore chain. I only saw this copy, but I will admit that when I grabbed it I paid and headed home so I could listen to it, I did not look to see if they had other copies, it was buried in the back of the vinyl in the wrong section.
Just finished my first listen to it. The vinyl sounds amazing, everything is very clear. I think the album is great, seems like it would have been a perfect fit after the Loads. Lots of catchy songs, lots of that familiar Metallica groove. This record is worth the wait. This is the best James vocals have sounded since Garage Inc. If you are lucky enough to find it early, you will not be disappointed. I will not be leaking the album, no way to do it, and I wouldn't anyway, it doesn't seem like the right thing to do.

fuck yeah!!!!, just listened to LOAD/RELOAD yesterday. I wan't it now!
