This Phoebe Bridgers song is really, really great. The Ringer had a very good article about it where they called it the song that best sums up 2020. They also ranked it as the #2 song of the year.
I do love this track. But not nearly as much as my daughter, who unfortunately decided to use it as the inspiration for her first (but not her last) tattoo. -rolleyes-

Hothouse Flowers' "Thing of Beauty":

I remember watching the U.S. Open Tennis late-night wrap-up show throughout the early-90s, and being enchanted by the majestic opening theme music. For years I wondered what the hell it was, until I found out sometime in the 2000s it was Yanni's (yes, Yanni; cue rolleyes and snickering) "Santorini". Think of him what you will, but large parts of this piece are spectacularly rousing.

Al Stewart's "A League of Notions":

A couple more catchy tunes by Al Stewart. "Apple Cider Reconstitution" and "Nostradamus". The latter is overlong, but I love the chorus.

Hmmm, never heard this one. Great one!

I love Tom Odell - Another Love (Zwette Edit), really perfect for doing sport or working

"Good Things" by BoDeans. The glaring grammatical error in the chorus bothers me, but the song is lovely regardless.

Not 100% sure I agree. Corduroy and Better Man are pretty great also. But you could make a case...

William Shatner's "Has Been" is one of my favorite albums of the past 20 years. It's poignant, funny, sad, angry. This live performance of "It Hasn't Happened Yet" is pretty amazing.

Hard to believe this never reached #1 on the charts and was beat by Sailing from Christopher Cross -rolleyes-

Have fond memories of Mike Cofer putting the ball on the tee before the Niners kickoffed with that sick guitar riff playing.

"Brothers Under the Bridges ('83)", Springsteen's best outtake. Hard to believe it didn't make it onto B.i.t.U.S.A., but I gather he considered it too similar to "No Surrender". It's every bit as great as that song. He doesn't make 'em like this anymore.

Re: Post a song you like or love.

^ So many great songs on Tracks. I got so pissed that I bought that box set for like $50 and then they released "18 Tracks" like a year later with The Promise and The Fever added to 16 previously released songs from that set (including the one you posted), as if to punish us true fans who had just bought the box set and thought we were getting a pretty complete collection. This was in the pre-streaming days and if you wanted to hear that song, you had to go buy another CD for two more songs. Pissed me off so much I didn't listen to the box set for years after that.

But none of that changes the fact that The Promise is an amazingly excellent song as well and while it's gotten its time in the limelight recently, it's hard to fathom how it was ever cut from Darkness on the Edge of Town in the first place.

^Yeah, I loved Tracks when I bought in '98, and still do. All unreleased material, lots of variety, and one can see the progression of his music, some directions of which I didn't fancy. I didn't know about that other album. I, too, hate when musicians try to cash in by releasing umpteen versions of the same songs. Springsteen usually isn't like that.

After not listening to her in probably a dozen years, I decided to deep dive some Lilly Allen recently. She's done some good stuff in more recent years including this original party song

And this wonderful cover of the beautiful Keane song
