Meg's new music video for her cover of Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill is pretty neat. Made with the help of 2130 elementary school students, who each colored in individual stills that were used as frames for the animation of the video.

Thankfully it didn't for me, but try slowing it down to .25x speed. Obviously it will distort the song but you can see each individual student's art. Some definitely can't stay inside the lines though haha

Here's all the video I got at her shows in Syracuse and Buffalo over the weekend. Her drummer is currently on tour drumming for Seal (yes, that Seal 
), so it was just her and her guitarist playing stripped back set for both shows, which personally I think really lets her voice shine.

For some reason her Kate Bush cover is blowing up on LA radio. Just heard it twice in ten minutes. It is the textbook example of a bad cover. It’s not a cover. Everything is a clone. It sounds precisely like the original. There’s only one exception. The drumming is drastically inferior. Like amateur hour compared to the original.

It’s been big for a while now.
I agree with the sentiment. But... it did its purpose... it got her noticed to a larger demographic and has done good things for her career. Unfortunate it wasn’t an original song that did it for her.

It's sad that it was her crummy cover that had to get her some decent exposure. Her EP and first two albums are near ear candy masterpieces in my opinion but quality has dramatically ran downhill since (pun very much intended!).

Yeah, I hate it when otherwise solid artists are better known for middling covers than their own far stronger original work.
As for Meg, it's unfortunate that she couldn't deliver on the promise of her first album, and even if she does put out stronger work in the future (which I doubt she will), it'll be far too late, and she's now about as big as she'll ever be.

I personally think Take Me To The Disco is a stronger, more mature, and more complete album than Sorry. And I still love Sorry as well.
But I agree. It's a shame it took her covering a classic to get the attention she deserves instead of her fantastic original material.
I'm just hopeful this is her big break and album #3 isn't as sorely overlooked amongst the indie/alternative scene as her first two. I guess we'll have to see.

Meg announced during a Livestreamed Q&A on Patreon that she is signing with Sumerian Records, as 300 Ent. declined to pick up the option for a second album. She also said her EP that features her Running Up That Hill cover, new song True Liars, and a handful other songs left off Take Me To The Disco will be out this year. Also clarified she is currently focused on writing for album #3 but will be playing a few festivals this summer.
