Laura Marling

Is her music fucking brilliant or what?

It's as if there was a 3-way love child of Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, and Leonard Cohen. I can't get enough.

Re: Laura Marling

Enjoy her stuff a lot. Do you listen to Sharon Van Etten or Haley Bonar?

Re: Laura Marling

I just was recently exposed to Sharon Van Etten. Don't know Haley but will check her out.

I am completely blown away by Laura Marling's stuff though.

I like her stuff okay, but I don't love it. I can see the appeal, however.

Re: Laura Marling

That's a good call, her music is like the love child of Nick Drake and Joni Mitchell. She's never made a bad album.

If you're into her music, might I suggest Marissa Nadler? Nadler is closer to Dark Folk than the singer-songwriter sensibilities of Marling but sounds like Leonard Cohen crossed with Norah Jones.

Re: Laura Marling

I get bored with folky music quickly. It has to be very good to get my attention, but I've been super impressed with Marling the last few years.
