Patrick Wilson on lead vocals, as well.

I really enjoy their version of Stay. That's one of my favorite songs ever. Forgot Patrick Wilson can sing.

It's good, but I like Cradle of Filth's version better.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I saw them last night in Michigan, great show as always.

My son really wanted a Papa IV plushie, and they were sold out when we got there. If anyone else is attending a show, if you get a chance to buy one, I would pay you for it + shipping.

edit: Nevermind on the plushie, I just ordered one off of their official website. It was out of stock last night and this morning, but it was available when I checked just now.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I thought the plushie was cool, but I'm very glad my son didn't see it so I didn't have to spend $50 on it haha. I did pick up a tour shirt though which still were crazy expensive. Inflation on the tour tshirts these days is crazy.

This is mainly a Livenation venue issue, I think they take 35% of merch sales, so $30 shirts must go up to $45 for the band to make the same profit per shirt.

It was $40, and he already has the Cardinal Copia plushie that I bought him at a gig a few years back, so he needed Papa IV to go with it. He told me that CC was lonely. He also didn't get anything else, so I felt bad for him.

Cool, I first took my son to see Ghost back in 2016 when he was 10 (his first rock concert). Luckily they didn't have any plushies then, or I would have had to buy one for him.

And yeah, concert shirts are getting crazy now price-wise, just like concert tickets are.

That is an awesome first concert for a kid!

Kinda like my kid's first concert. His first was Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Pop Evil and Sixx A.M. in 2012. Awesome first show in my opinion and he was 12.

Much better than my first concert which was Kansas at either LeVela or Spinnaker at Panama City Beach, Florida as a young teen. My parents wouldn't let me go to rock concerts as a kid so I missed all the great ones that came through Birmingham then. I had to listen to all the other kids brag about seeing Twisted Sister and Van Halen. (I don't count the endless Christian rock concerts they took me to as a kid. Too lame to mention any of them.)

I took Logan to see Ghost when they came through Birmingham a few years ago. It was an awesome concert at a very small venue. He got a shirt, but I don't remember any plushies back then.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

For those that want plushies and whatnot, check the official band merch website -- they sometimes have inventory there. I know they used to have the red uniform Cardinal Copia plushie for a while. Not sure about the new plushie, though.

Ghost was also my son's first rock concert when I took him in 2018. He was 9. Monday was his 4th ritual (my 5th).

Papa thanks you. Ghost is one of the few artists that my brother and I both enjoy. We have seen them four times together and have had a blast each time. My favorite time was when my brother took the phone out of the hand of the idiot in front of us trying to film the show and threw it across the theater.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Big fan of Ghost, obviously, but have not seen them live since they finally got big. The last time I saw them live was at the Wiltern and that was during the Popestar days, when Square Hammer was the current single. Once they came back with the full on Prequelle tour they did a headlining show at the Great Western Forum (or whatever it's called now), no-opener and a full 2-hour set. Tickets were $100+ each and there was no way I was swinging that.

Up till then we had seen them at:

Henry Fonda Theater (Papa II)
Palladium (Papa II)
The Mayan (Papa III)
The Wiltern (Papa III)

All of those tickets were $30 or less for GA admission. The Mayan was the coolest, because we used to go clubbing there in the early 2000's. I do own one of their shirts and it's the one where it's the JAWS parody. I also own that primo Swedish Meliora vinyl set with the bonus track Zenith.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I discovered Ghost when Infestissumam was about to be released. I think I read an interview with James Hetfield where he mentioned that he liked them. The three times I saw them on their own they played venues the size of a high school gym. The other time was opening for Iron Maiden.

I think the Papa I incarnation of the band played the Orion Festival, which was James/Lars' festival exposing new bands to people, etc. I also remember them saying that it lost a lot of money, which is why it hasn't come back.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I started listening to them around when the If You Have Ghost EP came out. I've seen them three times, at a small club in spring 2016 when they were supporting their Meliora album, at a theater at the end of 2016 when Popestar came out (almost the same set with Square Hammer added as the opener) and December 2018 at a large theater during their A Pale Tour Named Death tour (supporting Prequelle). That one was cool, over two hours with no opener, it was a pretty big production, I took my wife to that one and even she thought it was great.

Ah ok that makes sense....well it doesn't, it's bullshit but it's Livenation.

My son's first show was also Ghost two weeks ago. He dug it alot, like the stage show for both AA and Ghost. My experience with Ghost is alot like yall. First time I saw them was on Hunter/Heritage tour in 2012 in Seattle in front of like 50 people. The looks after show were pretty funny, alot of "what the fuck was that". This was when they were in the original Opus Eponymous mask and outfits and his only prop was the incense pot. Next time was Maiden and now headlining. It's pretty neat to say I've seen a band before they truly got big, it doesn't seem to happen alot like that these days.

Looking forward to this and not at same time. The Ghost fanbase has become unhinged and annoying.

Cool, I wouldn't mind seeing this. But yeah the fanbase has sure changed since this thread was started over 10 years (!) ago. Shit, I first saw them at a small club over eight years ago (I can't believe it was that long ago!) and the crowd was mostly your average metalheads, plus a few kids (including mine).

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I definitely would like to see this but I haven't seen them in concert in many years and like cultshock said, it was in a small club before they seemed to garner the larger following they have now.

So what is the fanbase doing nowadays that is unhinged and annoying?

It's fans that found them through TikTok.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Since it's TikTok, I'm guessing silly dances? I think there was some kind of TikTok remix or something of their song "Mary on a Cross" that helped make the band go viral to the unwashed masses. I don't do TikTok so I've never seen it myself.
