Re: Redundant songs?

I'd say a lot of the songs listed here are repetitive, but I don't think that's the same thing as redundant. Redundant is something like "Only time will tell if we stand the test of time", because "standing the test of time" implies that "only time will tell", so saying that line as written is redundant. Something like "Hey Jude" isn't redundant, as "na na na na na na Hey Jude" isn't a meaningful expression. It's certainly repetitive, though.

Re: Redundant songs?

Oh yeah the stupidest line from Jennifer Lopez's song (out of many), "If You Had My Love". She says "First of all I won't take you cheating on me."

That's rule number one? Thanks for the reminder dumbass.

Re: Redundant songs?

In that case, how about "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison? It's got two different knife cutting metaphors:

Though it's been a while now
I can still feel so much pain
Like a knife that cuts you the wound heals
But the scar, that scar remains

But now I hear you found somebody new
And that I never meant that much to you
To hear that tears me up inside
And to see you cuts me like a knife

I get it, Bret. It cuts. In a knife-like way.

The first post mentioned a song that was repetitive, not redundant, so I figure most of us were answering the OP's intent, not the literal title.

Re: Redundant songs?

Okay, do we need to change it to "repetitive songs"?

Hell, the entire freaking KISS catalog fits this thread.

I want to rock and roll all night
With Christine, who's sixteen
Who was made for loving me, baby
And who will shout it out loud
As she licks it up

Didn't even see the word redundant until Spermallet dropped some knowledge on everyone.
