Redundant (... repetitive) songs?

I just thought of this while listening to the radio, and the song "Heavy" by Collective Soul came on. The one where he sings, "all your weight, it falls on me, it brings me down" over and over.

What are some over extremely redundant songs, either musically or lyrically?

Take a Picture by Filter
Almost every single line is sung twice in a row.

Re: Redundant songs?

For somebody named Eddie Money, I'm a little surprised that "Take Me Home Tonight" didn't spring to mind first. : "I feel a hunger. It's a hunger". Really???

Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz. 80% of the song is the chorus (or some variation of it) being sung over and over and over...

"I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)"

Sweet Christ, that song made 1993 a living hell. That and the clap.

Re: Redundant songs?

All those blues songs, what's the deal, repeating every line twice?

Re: Redundant songs?

First song that came to mind is Queen's The Prophet's Song. The "now I know" part that repeats drives me nuts, otherwise great song.

I think bands like The Seeds and Ramones would win overall in this category.

Re: Redundant songs?

Based on the small sample size of Fatboy Slim songs I know (Praise You and The Rockafeller Skank), I'm going to say all Fatboy Slim songs.

It's repetitive but one of their best songs if you ask me.
