I want to say 'doesn't suck' but I couldn't make it through the whole thing. It's definitely not a song you'll confuse the decade it's from.

One of the few synth pop songs from the 80s I still enjoy.

I voted "it sucks" mainly because new wave really isn't my thing. It's not poorly produced, or written, or performed or anything, I just don't like it much. Personal taste.

I hated it at the time, but compared to 99% of the awful group-written repetitive-beat dross that's out there now it sounds great.

I think the reason you're implying it's monotonous is because the vocals end pretty early into the track. I always liked the song and could listen to it still without feeling bored. The drumming by Sharpley is superb. That's one of the things that always stood out to me about Numan's early work. He always had top musicians and lavish stage shows.
