Re: Chvrches
Gary Numan + Sneaker Pimps = chvrches

Re: Chvrches
How do you even begin to pronounce their name? Cha-ver-chess?

(on the engravings of many old buildings, you'll notice that they use a V for a U) |
Re: Chvrches
I vaguely recall they chose the odd spelling of "churches" so google and other searches would differentiate them from, you know, churches.

Never thought it was anything other than Churches. |
Re: Chvrches
The Mother we share is a song you can't get out of your head and Sirius XM plays it all the time.
I might download it from Itunes. |

Re: Chvrches
They're just starting to play that one? Man XMU was playing that one months ago. I think they've moved on to a 4th song.

Re: Chvrches
It's an excellent synth pop album but nobody will really remember it a year from now.
Just the way it is. |

Re: Chvrches
Hiro, all due respect...but it really is an average album. I'm ecstatic you're enjoying it as much as you claim. There's no single on it which will elevate the band to superstar status...because there simply isn't a strong enough single and it's incredibly steeped in 80's new wave nostalgia (cue: no guitars). It just won't hold up over time.
It's a very 'pleasant' record. I listen to it when I need soft background music. |
Re: Chvrches
Well, a year after I heard Lies, I still actively listen to it. That can be said for each song they've released in that timeframe as well...except maybe the cover of "I would die 4 v"
|
Re: Chvrches
The last thing I hope for them is to become "superstar status". Then I'll be sick of them.

Re: Chvrches
The Scottish trio Chvrches stopped by Studio A to play songs from their full-length debut album, The Bones of What You Believe. talk with the band about their music and the conversation drifted into law, journalism and Halloween costumes, among other things. Check out the great video performances of their stripped back versions of "The Mother We Share" and "Recover"

Re: Chvrches
Maybe they are what Depeche Mode would sound like if they had a female as the lead singer.

Re: Chvrches
I saw them the night after Thanksgiving and they put on a great show. Lauren Mayberry is even more adorable in person.

Re: Chvrches
http://www.chvrch.es/_assets/images/every-open-eye Released: 25th September 2015 1. Never Ending Circles 2. Leave A Trace 3. Keep You On My Side 4. Make Them Gold 5. Clearest Blue 6. High Enough To Carry You Over 7. Empty Threat 8. Down Side Of Me 9. Playing Dead 10. Bury It 11. Afterglow What I really like about this song is that it doesn't really sound any different than the stuff on the first album. So many indie bands start overproducing and try to sound bigger with their sophomore album. |
Re: Chvrches
I really like Leave a Trace. Getting some airplay here.
