Anyone listen to these guys? I've been listening to them for a few months now... I figured I'd share with forum for three reasons. 1. They did a cover of the GoT theme. 2. They just put a cover of RATM - Killing In The Name that is incredible. 3. They are just really fucking good.

Yep, I've been really into them lately. They also put out a good cover of Prince's "I Would Die 4 U" (retitled "I Would Die 4 V", of course).
I find the way she sings the word "don't" in "Recover" adorable as hell. Ah, Scottish women...

YES! I just got the EP two weeks ago and cannot stop listening to it. Really looking forward to the album due out later this year.

She definitely is cute, though she looks younger than she really is. I felt kinda pervy there until I found out she's in her mid-20s.
Here's that Prince cover.

So how are they live? Anyone know? Today a local venue announced that they will be coming in November (on Black Friday!), with tickets going on sale next week. I suppose it's not a huge gamble at $20, but I'm just curious.

I'm going to see them on Sunday. The show reviews have been good. I'm glad to be going now before they really blow up. Ticket prices for the fall leg are double what they were.

Wow, I'm glad to see these guys are starting to get noticed. I had heard them last year with their song "Lies," but I couldn't really find much else with them. They're coming to First Ave. in September...you better believe they will be playing "I Would Die 4 V," and I'll be there to witness it.

Re: Chvrches
I thought they were excellent. I HIGHLEY recommend going to see them on this fall tour. I said it already, but I will say it again. That girl is so painfully adorable. She seemed a little timid while singing, I'm sure she will loosen up the longer she is at it. She has one hell of a voice. The 2 guys are entertaining as well. Usually with an electronic band, it seems like they just run the track and twist some nobs during a live show. But you could clearly see them hitting cues, and playing additional instruments. One of them actually sings lead on a song, and it seems like he just pours his heart out while singing. Their debut album is one of the most anticipated in the indie world right now. After seeing some of these songs live, it has absolutely jumped up to one of my most anticipated as well. Behind Arcade Fire of course.
Just out of curiousity...how did you guys hear about them? Do you listen to Sirius XMU? Do they play them on FM radio now?
If you don't already know, their debut album comes out Sept. 24th :

Good to hear. I'm pretty sure I'll buy a ticket when they go on sale on Friday.
I first heard them a few months ago when "Recover" was used as bumper music on the Relevant Magazine podcast and my ears perked up. I don't have satellite radio and only listen to FM when my clock radio wakes me up in the morning. It seems that the bulk of my exposure to new music these days comes from podcasts, TV shows, and commercials.

Re: Chvrches
Not my typical stuff, but dig em. One of my favorite new bands.
Another new band I caught last night on Jimmy Fallon. Avett Brothers. Good stuff. Reminded me a little of Oasis

I grabbed their album off of Amazon for $7.99, can't wait to get it. In the meantime:

I can't help but love me some remixes when it comes to almost any band/artist.

First batch of official videos:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ktoaj1IpTbw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Live video of what's probably my favorite track on the album, very Numan-esque:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_Y7kP98ty1g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Note: lead singer Lauren Mayberry has a law degree and a masters. So on top of being enormously cute, posessing a fetching-as-hell Scottish accent and being able to sing like that, she's not so dumb.

Re: Chvrches
Tried to get into the album, but it's just a touch too "normal" for me. Certainly better than a load of other bands trying the same thing, though.
