Love Herb Alpert. There's a modern remix version of his songs too.

Ha, I also like the fictional cover story featuring Arnold, Sly, and Bruce.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Random question (I may have asked it but I don't remember the answers) - do any of you vinyl fiends buy an extra copy to store away when buying a hot new release or collector's item?

Just curious.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

No, I don't buy vinyl to resell. I buy it to listen. I do keep them in the best shape I can, but that's more for audio quality.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I don't think I've ever bought multiple copies. Pretty much buy to listen. I have traded/sold some over the years, not that often though.

Never. The only time I end up with multiple copies is if I have a so-so copy, and then find a really, really nice copy at a store, and can't turn it down.

But I never buy multiple copies of new vinyl.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Nice job! I'd love to have those first two. (And I'm a huge XTC fan but have enough!)

I see a lot of Jam love lately. I just ran all my Jam albums through the Spin Clean so it's like I have all new copies!

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Picked up the 5 LP set from Die ärzte "Die Nacht der Dämonen" via amazon.de

Nice collection, my only complaint is the booklet is what was included with the CD (same size). Sounds great though

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I went to an event at the Egyptian last night for Day of the Dead (1985). Waxork just released a deluxe edition of John Harrison's score on vinyl and - wow - did they ever do a phenomenal job on this thing. 2-LP, gatefold, THE DEAD WALK insert liner notes; it's a thing of beauty.

Grateful Dead - From the Mars Hotel (near mint)
Grateful Dead - Wake of the Flood (flawless)
Grateful Dead - Skullfuck (Skull and Bones) - ragged but vinyl good
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced (not original but very early copy)
Pere Ubu - Terminal Tower
Frank Zappa - Sheik Yerbouti

Re: The VINYL Thread!

The new Sleigh Bells LP is a pretty sweet package:

It's also meant to have a download code, although I didn't notice it in there, so I'll have to double check for it.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I sorta intended to buy Day of the Dead today but it wasn't in stock at the local place I visit. I can however report the clash boxset sounds amazing. Getting read to restore a couple of mono block amps with a friend of mine. Hopefully learn something from him. Just need a real pre amp now.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

The Clash box set looks cool, but I already have original issue releases of London Calling and Combat Rock. Also, is the debut album the UK or US version?

Did anyone end up ordering one of these? I hear they're starting to arrive and the reviews have been pretty positive overall. I'm in the market for a new tt and have it narrowed down to the Orbit or Debut Carbon.
