Re: The VINYL Thread!

That's crazy. It was $36 after shipping through Light In The Attic.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

My local store had 3 copies of the gold Fog over the weekend at $35. I went for a couple of the talking heads reissues instead.

Is there any reason to get it over the original version?

Re: The VINYL Thread!

200g vinyl, a new remaster supervised by Robert Fripp of the original mix. If you can find a good condition original issue for less than $30 you're probably fine.

Nice haul indeed. Reminds me I still need to pick up Kill Bill. Been putting it off far too long.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I'm at FYF Fest this weekend in LA and there are several record shops that have booths and are selling vinyl. Are they really expecting people to lug around vinyl for 10 hours in the desert? Weird.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I need to stop going to Amoeba.

Found Death Waltz editions of Prince of Darkness and The Fog (Blake's Gold edition), which is absolutely fucking gorgeous. Also grabbed the soundtracks to Roadie and The Black Hole, as well as Wendy Carlos' Switched On Bach.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

POD was $24.95, The Fog was $34.95. I think my friend & I cleaned out the POD stock, but they still had at least 6 copies of The Fog.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I see The Clash has a vinyl reissue box set coming. I've bought the reissues that have been out for the past couple of years so I guess there won't be any difference than the ones in the set? anyone know? Only Sandinista and Combat Rock seem new.

I've got original issues of London Calling and Combat Rock, so I will be skipping this.

At the Solid Sound Festival, the vendor would hold your purchase and staple a ticket to the bag and give you the other. Or they would ship UPS.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I think they're doing a release of Sketches of Spain on vinyl next month, which I will grab for sure.

Edit: Yep, October 8th. Pre-ordered a copy from Amazon.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Just ordered that Audio Technica turntable that Why So Blu linked to on page 2 for a friend as a wedding gift. Also picked up the remastered The Queen is Dead by The Smiths and Kid A on vinyl for the couple.

Very nice!

I haven't bought shit in a couple of months. Last one I bought was Joe Jackson I'm the Man.
