Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

Just messing around and Jan 28 (Thursday has Enhanced Tickets for $1000). The two day is there too (a lot) for $2k. It's still cheaper than Stub Hub. I have a feeling they held back a lot of seats for the general. Not going to panic buy. At this point I just interested in the situation. Like a case study.

Numbers go down. I'm getting more confident that tickets will be available at the standard price tomorrow where we get to do it again: 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 8 pm I think. This manufactured demand to get people to panic buy the really expensive tickets. It's happening more and more and TM's algo is getting really good at predicting behavior and profit maximizing. It's fascinating. I'd be impress with the technical side if it wasn't at my expense.

This is one of the pitfalls of living in Las Vegas. This is being marketed as more of a tourist event with premium pricing. I’m going to wait and try to get tickets at the last minute on the secondary market from a seller that doesn’t want to eat a big loss due to not being able to go.

Yeah, people get Covid/food poisoning/hungover. There were a few events that never saw cheaper last-minute seats (Adele, Bruno Mars), but most events do see some after an extended run.

Metallica acknowledges that their ticket buying experience was less thanideal. No new dates to be added at this time.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

Been watching quite a few of their performance videos from the most recent '24/'25 and man they sound, in some cases, the best they've ever sounded. A buddy made a comment that Lars finally started practicing how to play when he turned 60.

Also, in Dec 2024 they played Unforgiven II and they finally nailed it after 28 years. They only ever played it live 7 times in those years and got right on lucky number 7. They had a third guitarist handle the rhythm guitar and B-bend parts.

Now one of the coolest ones from that 72 Seasons tour is the Master of Puppets in Munich in the rain:
