Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/lo...ign-mpt=uo%3D4
they're calling it "the first pass version" so if it makes the album, we may see another version of it
Lords of Summer has been released quietly to itunes. its already 88 on the main itunes chart.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

That song still doesn't do much for me. I expect it to make the album but wouldn't be disappointed if it didn't.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

Ten Years Of LiveMetallica.com

We've been extremely proud to offer virtually every show we've done in the past ten years as a download within days of the shows happening... sometimes even hours! Over the years we've been able to offer more download options adding HD audio and Apple lossless files to the mix, but we still get requests for the "old school" compact disc. To celebrate ten years of Live Metallica, we're going to make that happen! Starting today through the end of this year, every show that we've played in 2014 will be released on CD! We are gonna roll out three shows at a time on Mondays.

We want to keep it simple so we'll go in order of when the shows were played starting with Bogotá, Colombia, Quito, Ecuador and Lima, Peru from the March South American run. Next week the next three shows will be available and so on. For those of you who want it all, we're also giving you a chance to pre-order a box set with all 27 shows included, which will ship in December. There's that special concept of a volume discount and you'll have a box to store all your CD's in. CD's will be priced at the very clever price of $19.81 a pop with the box set at $417.00 (spot the savings!) and you can place your orders at either LiveMetallica.com or in the Met Store.

And for you vinyl junkies, select shows will be released on limited edition 180-gram vinyl early next year. And once again, we here at your friendly Metallica HQ want your input as to which shows you would like to see on vinyl... YOU choose from the 27 shows we've played this year by voting for your favs here. We'll take the top four that receive the most votes and press them up for you to order in early 2015. Voting will close on September 26.

Let us know what you think and look for many more releases and some cool box sets in the New Year!

LIVE METALLICA: BY REQUEST 2014 BOX SET - 27CD

A Whole Week With Craig Ferguson!

We're excited to celebrate Craig Ferguson's final season on CBS as he has personally invited us to join him for an entire week of performances starting Monday, November 17th. We'll be playing every night that week and on the first night (Monday) we'll sit down with Craig to chat about all things 'Tallica.

Met Club members should log in for information about how they can be a guest in the studio audience during the filming of the show in Los Angeles, CA.

Tune in to the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on weeknights at 12:37 AM EST.

WANTED: Your Audio Recordings, Videos, and Snapshots from Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning

A little over two months ago we reached out to you for your assistance with the definitive Master of Puppets book that author Matt Taylor is assembling and you came through in a very big way – thank you!! We’re back again hoping you can dip into your personal archives and find some gems from the Kill ‘Em All and Ride The Lightning eras as we prep deluxe remastered versions of those two albums coming in 2015.

We want it all! Did you manage to sneak a video camera into a show long before they fit in your pocket? Maybe your old instamatic camera for some snap shots? A cassette Walkman with a microphone? We’re looking for anything and everything... audio, video, photos, fliers, ticket stubs, the set list you picked up off the floor, and in general any mementos you may have from that around that time. Make your mark on these albums by e-mailing us at [email protected] to share your story and receive more info about submitting photos, videos, audio recordings and other mementos. Remember, we want everything (well, everything that’s yours)! Nothing is too small or too trivial... share your archives with your fellow fans and have some fun with us walking down memory lane. By submitting it, you’re saying we can use it should your piece of history land on a release (yes, the lawyers made us add this part!).

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

They haven't really given any details. It could be the remastered versions that they released on vinyl or it could be a brand new remaster.

I'd say the answer is yes. I doubt they would only do the first two.

Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning Death Magneticized. Your favorite solos will now be distorted and every drum hit will make your speakers sound like there is bacon being fried in the room with you.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

Metallica is performing tonight in the Concert for Valor. You can see it live on HBO which looks to be free for DirecTV customers and probably for all cable and satellite providers.

Three Years After Release, METALLICA's 'Lulu' Has Yet To Surpass 35,000 In U.S. Sales

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/thr...-in-u-s-sales/

Since its release almost exactly three years ago, "Lulu", METALLICA's controversial collaborative album with former THE VELVET UNDERGROUND frontman Lou Reed, has sold just under 33,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Issued on November 1, 2011, "Lulu" shifted 13,000 units in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 36 on The Billboard 200 chart. By contrast, METALLICA's last full-length studio effort, 2008's "Death Magnetic", sold 490,000 copies in just a three-day sales window after it came out on a Friday, with sales tracked through the following Sunday.
Wow. I knew it came and went pretty quick, but that's amazingly bad.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

Lulu is a great Lou Reed album but it didn't sound like Master Of Puppets so I am not surprised the Metallica fans didn't buy it. I think they put the entire album up for streaming a week or so before the physical release so that probably kept people for giving it a blind buy.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

I find almost every Lou Reed song completely off putting and Lulu was no different. I wish they had teamed with someone else or done an album with different singers on every track. There are alot of artist still alive that they covered from Garage Inc. that would have been awesome to pair up with.
