She is better than Beyonce
I thought Reputation was a great album. |

Doesn't everyone leave the Christmas lights up until January? :hscratch:

I like her, too, and am hoping the new album is better than Reputation. I only dug a handful of songs on that one. Contractual obligation albums, amiright?
In this week's Target insert there's a promotion where you get a $5 gift card if you buy ALL FOUR exclusive editions. At $18 a pop, that's kinda crazy, but I guess I could see some of her superfans doing that. Maybe pooling with their friends. Last time Target had two different magazines for the album. (I'm pretty sure my niece got both.) They're really stepping things up. |

my best guess would be the cover and how empty your bank account gets...

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
Listened to it 3 times today. Another great album. Every album since Red I've loved.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
I like it. Many good tracks. Glad to see another catchy kiss-off to an ex-boyfriend open the album.

She is probably the Madonna of this generation and one of the rare artists that can sell CDs

I bet a lot of country artists sell CDs though. I've noticed that both Sheryl Crow and Don Henley have followed Darius Rucker's lead and moved into the Country genre to sell records again. Cynical, but it probably works. |

Heh. My first thought based on the names of the listings was that they are coming in 1 disc, 2 disc, 3 disc, and 4 disc editions, but at that price I guarantee I read it wrong. (It'd help if it was listed as "Target Exclusive Edition #3 CD" rather than "Target Exclusive Edition 3 CD".)

The official music video for Lover

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
Except for a few songs, I hated Reputation but this album is a terrific return to form for Taylor. Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince is my favorite track. |
Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
I think this one is way better than Reputation as well.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
The vinyl version will come out exclusively from Target on Nov 15, 2019

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
I still see tons of the Target Exclusive CD's warming shelves.

What do you guys think of "If I Were a Man*? I find it an interesting song. I keep wondering if she is right and we are overly critical of her for being a woman She's not wrong about how we view dating around for men and women. But mostly I think she gets criticism not for being a serial dater but because she writes a hit song for every break up which makes it far more noticeable than if she were quiet and discreet. |
Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
I have the CD but have not listened to it yet.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
I was just curious about something. How many of y'all actually affectionately call your significant other your "lover"? My wife and I have been together for about 24 years and I don't think I've ever referred to her by that term, except maybe jokingly. It just sounds odd to me.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
Lovers tend to be those that are not in a committed relationship. Chicks that I randomly bang I call my "lovers." It's an archaic word, though. Classy, too.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
I thought her solo performance on SNL of "Lover" was quite good.
Plus, she's still hot as all hell with crazy to match. |
Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
I liked the VMA performance better of Lover better and she was hotter during that performance with that purple outfit.
