Re: Davy Jones RIP
I was on a busy vacation when I heard about Jones' death. It wasn't until getting the latest Rolling Stone and opening it to a big photo of Davy from the 60's that it hit me with sadness. I'm not immune to perceptions people had of this band through the years, but I've always loved them. I remember buying their debut on CD 20 years ago (after having it on vinyl since I was a kid). It was used at a funky record store and I made a crack with the store clerk and then we both agreed how fantastic their music was. I never cared to see The Monkees live as older guys. No matter, I adore their music and hate seeing people who mean(t) a lot to me passing.

For anyone who's interested in this sort of thing: Mickey Dolenz will be replacing Davy Jones next month at EPCOT's Flower & Garden Festival, May 18-20th. For Monkees/Davy Jones fans, I'm sure it'll be a heartfelt performance.
