Re: Bonnaroo 2012 Lineup
I was thinking of possibly traveling to a festival this year and Bonnaroo was one I was considering. This year's lineup really doesn't do much for me though. I kind of like Red Hot Chili Peppers but won't travel that far to see them. Don't really care for Radiohead and can't stand Phish so none of the headliners do much for me.
I think I might try and check out Sasquatch! instead if I can get a group together. Jack White, Beck, Tenacious D, The Roots, and M. Ward are some of the groups I wouldn't mind checking out.

Not impressive at all really. Sasquatch and Coachella have much better lineups. Alot of good indie bands not on this list that are on others. I hope Lolla impresses me this year.

Phish, the Avetts, Dawes, Shins, Ben Folds Five, Kooks, Delta Spirit, Kurt Vile...and the list goes on. Are you kidding me? Coachella is totally lame compared to this lineup. Sasquatch is pretty much the same bands but without the big names like Phish and Radiohead.

Re: Bonnaroo 2012 Lineup
I've never been to a big music festival before but I think the lineup here looks pretty good. Sure a lot of the names aren't familiar but the ones I do know I think would be a blast to see at a festival. I like how the VIP package included shower and bathroom perks

Re: Bonnaroo 2012 Lineup
I think it'd be too crazy for me. We considered going last year in one of their rental RVs. From pics, it doesn't seem you can get too close to the stages unless you want to make your way through sweaty hipsters.
Newport was just right last year size-wise. They had a really good lineup as well. No camping at Newport which I think is a plus.

Re: Bonnaroo 2012 Lineup
Geez, The "Beach Boys" are really going to try to do a concert tour. They were really scarily bad on the Grammys. How many backup singers did they have propping up their voices? Mike Love and Brian Wilson were vying for the most comatose performer on stage.

Re: Bonnaroo 2012 Lineup
Brian Wilson's part was definitely prerecorded. And it appeared that Brian's SMiLE band was in the background doing the heavy lifting.

Re: Bonnaroo 2012 Lineup
Yeah, from what I've read the Beach Boys "tour" (looks like a handful of stops) will mainly consist of Brian Wilson's band with the other remaining Beach Boys joining in.
Years ago I was at a Jimmy Buffet concert and out popped Brian Wilson for a couple songs. It was great seeing a legend in person but sad at the same time. I'm sure he has his good days and his bad days. But I would imagine his good days are few and far between nowadays.

Re: Bonnaroo 2012 Lineup
I saw Brian Wilson on the Smile tour a few years back and thought the show was great. He doesn't sound the best, but what person his age does? The band was tight and the songs are classics, I'm gonna try to see one of these reunion shows.
