Best part (other than it being Negative Fucking Approach) was that it was only $5!
I've seen Negative Approach 4 times and they never disappoint.

Went to a Graveyard show last week. Was my first live show in a while.

If you've never seen Matt & Kim before I HIGHLEY recommend getting there for their set. I've seen them 5 times now and they never dissapoint. They have so much energy for 2 people.

I had not seen Passion Pit for 2 years and this show was a huge improvement over the last time. It's been fun watching them grow from a one man project to a band headlining arenas.

I have covered Matt & Kim twice in the past couple of months. The two of them just have a ton of energy.

I also got to cover Passion Pit at MIA Festival in September. I thought they were much better at MSG.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Going to be a busy concert year for me. I haven't been to a concert in a long time.

This year, I'm hitting the following.

Muse - March 2
Fleetwood Mac - July something

And this weekend, tickets go on sale for fun. and Tegan and Sara. Going to that show for Tegan and Sara, but fun. has some songs that aren't horrid though they are overplayed.

SoSpacey...I feel like we're always at the same shows.

I've watched Matt & Kim grow over the last few years. I saw them play a small party in room of 200. I saw them play the Stone Pony...then move up to Terminal 5...then the Wellmont...now MSG. Pretty awesome.

We need a thread for "What shows are you going to" so I know where you will be in advance. I was at The Wellmont show and the MSG one obviously.

And please, call me Joe.

I have Marooon 5 coming up, which I doubt you would be at. Then Tame Impala, Grace Potter (maybe) and Matchbox 20 to round out the month.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

The only things I have planned right now are Fleetwood Mac at Prudential and The Postal Service at Barclays. I saw sooo many shows over the last 2 years. I'm trying to cut down on the smaller bands who will most likely be at festivals.

Tame Impala were very good. I saw them at Lolla last year.

I'm the opposite. I would rather see the smaller groups during their own tours and not risk them playing at the same time as another group I want to see. How do you handle that situation? Do you cut out early during a set to see the other group?

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I agree. Thats what I used to do. But it gets expensive if the bands are going to be there anyway. Especially for me if I have to pay $25 or more for travel into NYC.

I'll split sets. My other thing is I'll by tickets to everything, and once the schedule for Lolla gets announced I'll sell them off if I can see everything.

That's awesome! It was my first time ever seeing them. Tons of people showed up to this really nice venue and went completely apeshit. So fun!

Matt and Kim were awesome and you weren't kidding about the energy - it was ridiculous. A really fun set. Passion Pit were incredible and sounded better live than on the record. One of the better shows I've been to in a while and that is saying something.

Went primarily for STG, ended up really enjoying Midi Matilda and Oh No Fiasco as well, and left three songs into Dirty Heads (we knew nothing about them beforehand). We both had a big feeling of 'one of these things is not like the other'.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I saw Garbage at San Manuel Casino in Highland, CA in December. It was an amazing concert. It was mostly sold out and i could only get a seat in the back, but during the opening act (Imagine Dragons), a woman came up to me and gave me her ticket and it turned out to be in the front row. During the concert someone in the front row was feeling dizzy so Shirley Manson reached in to steady him and he ended up pulling her into the stage when he fainted. She was okay, but the cool thing about it was she never stopped singing during the entire time.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Saw Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders, and Intronaut last night in St. Louis.

They were all incredible (I've seen AAL before and I've been in to them for a while), but Meshuggah was practically life changing. I also managed to get one of Tomas' sticks. I was left speechless and felt like a giddy high school student. I was up front and probably had a big cheesy smile on my face for 90% of Meshuggah's set.

2/23/13: The Phenomenauts/La Plebe/The Dirty Hand Family Band/The Bruises (@ Slim's)

My girlfriend & I won free tickets. La Plebe was so awesome. She loves the Phenomenauts and they also put on a ridiculously fun show.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Muse concert on 3/2/2013 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit was an amazing show. They sounded great, the lights and lasers were impressive and the use of the video screens behind the band in a semi-circle and the upside down pyramid of screens were great.

According to one of the Muse boards, Detroit got a treat in the song selection for the set list playing a song or two that weren't usually played and without cutting other commonly played songs. Mainly from the inclusion of Sunburn from the first album and adding Follow Me in the middle of the slower piano section of songs in Explorers and Sunburn.

The 2nd Law: Unsustainable
Supremacy
Map of the Problematique - (Who Knows Who outro)
Supermassive Black Hole
Panic Station
Resistance
(Star-Spangled Banner intro) - Hysteria
(Man with a Harmonica intro) - Knights of Cydonia
Monty Jam
Explorers
Follow Me
Sunburn
Liquid State
Madness
Undisclosed Desires
Time Is Running Out
New Born - (Rage Against the Machine's Microphone Fiend outro)
The 2nd Law: Isolated System
Uprising - (Extended outro)

Encore:
Starlight
Survival
