I saw The Faint play Friday with Icky Blossoms and Trust opening. Icky Blossoms were pretty good. Trust seemed like a terrible bastard child of Bauhaus and Depeche Mode to me. The Faint performed Danse Macabre in its entirety (along with a dozen or so other songs) and were great.

Not really a concert, but I did see the Trailer Park Boys in Chicago on Saturday night. Bubbles played a couple of tracks on his acoustic, so that counts. 
And they were brilliant, by the way !

I celebrated the non-apocalypse last night with some High On Fire.
Man, place was DEAD. Easily under 1/4 capacity. I didn't mind, though. And I scored some great merch.

I finished off my year by going to 4 nights of Umphrey's McGee at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, 12/28-31. One of the best weekends of my life, massive amount of partyin' and fun. There's nothing like a NYE concert.

Almost went to that show, but ended up catching Peter Murphy on December 30th. He did the "Deep" album in its entirety, plus other catalog hits for the second half of the set. Pretty good show as ususal, but he was suffering a cold so his voice wasn't quite up to par. Next week, it's Paul Gilbert in Los Angeles...

I was actually back on Staten Island for the Staten Strong Gala a few weeks ago. My first time back since the storm and I can't believe what that area still looks like.

Saw Morrissey last Tuesday. Great show.
Saw Ellie Goulding last night. She was really good. Very adorable. I didn't realize her demographic was younger kids. Most of the crowd was still in high school. I know she is on the poppy side...but I thought she was still like kind of indie pop.

Haha...I wasnt complaining. I was just surprised. Thats not normally the crowd I see at NYC shows.
