EELS Appreciation Thread

Sometimes i think The Eels don't get the attention they deserve, not that Mr. Everett is a complete unknown but sometimes I wish his name would be more of a household name than let's say Lady Gaga. But then again fame does sometimes kill everything :P Anyways here are 11 Eels tracks for those who don't know them and I would find it hard to believe if you can't find at least one song you enjoy.

No "Last Stop: This Town" or "Mr. E's Beautiful Blues"? Those are probably two of the catchiest songs that would interest non-fans (or make non-fans say, "Oh yeah, I remember that!"). Edit: since I obviously don't know how to embed videos:

I really, really, like the Souljacker / Rotten World Blues album. On the other side, I didn't care for Tomorrow Morning much at all. Maybe it will sink in further down the road.

Electro-Shock Blues is amazing...haven't caught up with too much of E's later stuff, though. His solo albums (A Man Called E, Broken Toy Box, etc.) are also worth looking into.

Saw a really cool documentary about Mark Everett (E)'s journey to discover his father's work as the physicist who developed the theory of a Parallel Universe. It was called Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives (BBC4). Check it out if you have the chance.

Re: EELS Appreciation Thread

^ I would start with their previous album Electro-Shock Blues. That was my introduction and its also considered to be one of his best works. But I also recommend "Hombre Lobo" which is fucking awesome!

Yep, Electro-Shock and Daises are the masterpieces, IMO.
