Black Country Communion
Just bought this cd this weekend and i haven't been able to put it down yet. Joe Bonamassa ( sorry, I probably spelled his name wrong ) Glen Hughes, Jason Bonham and keyboardist...his name escapes me at the moment. But a killer cd that reminds me of old Deep Purple stuff. The only thing that I can't get over is why this cd was produced so poorly. The songs are recorded way too low and is muffed at times. Every song is good on this and the production has just ruined it. With all of the technology they have today how can this happen? I could jam with this cd forever but the production just killed it.

Re: Black Country Communion
I agree, the production kinda killed this album for me - but it wasn't the only thing. To me, the album seems to go on a bit too long. Anytime I find myself asking - "shouldn't this song (or even record) be over by now?" is never a good sign. I also found Glenn Hughes singing to be very hit or miss. I was either really liking it, or not caring for it much at all. The playing, on the other hand, is absolutely phenomenal.

I am just happy to hear Glenn singing rock again.I'm not a big fan of funk or the blues...hell,I'm not even a little fan of it.
By the way,I think it is Derek Sherinian on keys.

yeah a few of the songs are too long but that's what reminds me of a lot of the Deep Purple songs. Plus Hughes.

Re: Black Country Communion
Great album. Hughes still has one of the best voices around.
I don't mind the production. It's not over-produced and/or sterile. It's a little bit warmer - I think that's probably what they had in mind .... a more 70's/80's sound.
