Weezer: Hurley - Sept. 14th
According to Twitter, Weezer have signed to Epitaph and have a new album out Sept. 14th.
Hopefully this is just the thing to get these guys back on track after the last few extremely mediocre (IMO) efforts.
Details to follow.

Interesting that they're releasing a new album in only a little over a month and this is the first that I'm hearing of it. Guess I haven't kept up with them as much lately. I'll get it the day its out as I'm a big fan of these guys.

I liked both Red and Raditude - sure they aren't up to the levels of Blue, Pinkerton or Green but I had fun with them. Can't wait for the new one, especially since I had no idea it was even in the works! (Saw them in concert a month ago and they didn't play any new material or mention a new record).

^Yeah, a lot actually. Over the years Rivers has really come out of his shell. He does a lot more banter now I find.

edit: I took out the cover pic since you updated the first post.
yeah the cover is definitely a odd one, guess it makes sense given the title of the album. I really hope this one is good. I hated Raditude at first but it grew on me and I really like it now.

Wait...that's the real cover? I thought it was just you guys in the thread goofing around...
Anyway, My expectations aren't very high since the last few albums. Hopefully they surprise me this time.
Edit: Listen to the first single "Memories" Here.

Always smart when you want to make an album to stand the test of time to put some short term pop culture icon who's about to fade into oblivion as your album cover.

Okay I'm out of the loop apparently. I have no clue who the hell that is on the cover. Either way it seems stupid to me and I've been a fan of pretty much everything Weezer has done so far. Hopefully the music is good. The first single "Memories" is okay not the best thing they've done by a long shot, and not even their best in recent years but i don't mind it.

I agree on Memories though. I don't love it, but I think it's better than almost everything on Raditude.

Re: Weezer: Hurley - Sept. 14th
The newly major-label free Weezer have a new album, Hurley (aka the one with the absurd, Lost-referencing album cover), out September 14 via Epitaph. They've got a new single out, too, the alt-rock-tastic "Memories". Lots of looking ahead towards the future, right? Well, it seems that Weezer might look back with a possible tour that would find the band playing their two most beloved albums, 1994's Weezer (aka "The Blue Album") and 1996's Pinkerton, in their entirety, as MTV reports.
Frontman Rivers Cuomo told MTV News about the possible touring plans while shooting the sure-to-be-ridiculous video for "Memories": "We have this really exciting idea to do a tour where we spend two nights in each city, and the first night, we play the entire Blue Album, and the second night, we play the entirety of Pinkerton. We're just running it by promoters right now to see if there's sufficient interest in the markets to do something like that, and if they're on board, it's gonna happen."
Drummer Pat Wilson added to MTV, ""Yeah, it would probably be a Blue/Pinkerton tour. It's an idea, we're still examining the mathematics of everything, looking at the logistics and schedules ... you know." Sounds like it might happen, then-- let's hope they don't play, uh, anything after Pinkerton.

Weezer pretty much lost me with the Green album and then completely lost me with everything since...
...however, I would absolutely see them on a Blue/Pinkerton tour. Possibly even both nights.

Re: Weezer: Hurley - Sept. 14th
Do they really need 2 nights in each city to perform the albums? I'd buy tickets to the Pinkerton show but wouldn't make the trip two nights in a row and would hate to miss the blue album performance. Both albums combined are less than 80 minutes, no?
