the song is golden, and I put some version of it on just about every mix CD i make.

This is off their Quiet Zone / Pleasure Dome album, which is my choice as my desert island disc. The one album I simply will never tire of.

No Doubt - Don't Speak

yeah, from Heart & Soul? I think it's a rehersal tape recorded on Barney's boombox. It's remastered, but the sound is just horribly muddled.

you know more rehersal versions have surfaced, but the lad wont liberate the material due to wishes from the band. It supossedly has clear vocals, and just an all around better recording. Regardless, it'll come out one day.

Joy Division not getting the song properly recorded is one of the saddest blunders in music IMO.

Hard choices, but think I can narrow it down to Sympathy for the Devil by the Stones, No Woman No Cry by Marley, or Sgt. Peppers by The Beatles

I've been a music lover for decades so my choice has stood the test of time for me.

I've heard of Opeth, but when I hear "death metal" I think of those growly cookie monster vocals that make me want to stab my eardrums with the nearest screwdriver.

Beautiful song. I love the acoustic solo at the end.

Well, they have plenty of moments with cookie monster vocals.
