Ceremony - Joy Division/New Order
I love the version on JD's Still, both New Order recordings, Galaxie 500's, Radiohead's, Xiu Xiu's....
the song is golden, and I put some version of it on just about every mix CD i make.

Van Der Graaf - Cat's Eye / Yellow Fever (running)
This is off their Quiet Zone / Pleasure Dome album, which is my choice as my desert island disc. The one album I simply will never tire of.

you know more rehersal versions have surfaced, but the lad wont liberate the material due to wishes from the band. It supossedly has clear vocals, and just an all around better recording. Regardless, it'll come out one day.
Joy Division not getting the song properly recorded is one of the saddest blunders in music IMO.

Hard choices, but think I can narrow it down to Sympathy for the Devil by the Stones, No Woman No Cry by Marley, or Sgt. Peppers by The Beatles

I've been a music lover for decades so my choice has stood the test of time for me.
Be Still My Beating Heart - Sting
Now if we had a top 5 list it would include in no particular order:
Behind the Wheel - Depeche Mode
Violet - Seal
Save a Prayer - Duran Duran
Father Figure - George Michael

My all-time favorite has to be:

But I these two are also very close:

If I had to pick only one song for the rest of my life, this is it:
http://<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/C3tDw7znNyQ&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/C3tDw7znNyQ&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

I've heard of Opeth, but when I hear "death metal" I think of those growly cookie monster vocals that make me want to stab my eardrums with the nearest screwdriver.
Beautiful song. I love the acoustic solo at the end.

Queen-Innuendo
Quite fitting,as it is the 1st track on the final(well, their final album to be released while Freddie was alive)album by my all time favorite band.
