If you'd asked me in the 90s the answer would've been instant. Now, I've got to think about it for a while, consider all the possibilities, and then eventually come to the conclusion that my answer from the 90s is still correct.

I had to think about this one for a while. Though I love a lot of rock genres including punk, progressive and classic rock, for some reason some power pop songs just give me chills every time I hear them when they are just perfectly crafted. I think Tomorrow Night by Shoes is the epitome of this perfection so it's my pick.

I was just talking about this with a friend of mine and I was on a long road trip and the song "Santa Monica" by Everclear came on and I said that has to be my favorite song ever. I also think it is on the best album where I could listen to every song without hitting the skip button once, Sparkle and Fade. Was there ever a more appropriate album title? Everything they did after it was shit.

This may not be my favorite song but its one of them, and this is probably one of the most powerful performances that I have ever seen.

Actually that's my third favorite song of all time.

First, I love songs that start out slow and build to a frenzy. Second, the song just rocks. Third, it brings back good memories. back in the 80s, I used to meet up with friends after school and play video games in the local pizza place and I would always punch up that song on the jukebox.

#2 - "Fantasy" by Earth, Wind and Fire.
#3 - "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zepplin

Those are solid. After that it gets a bit fuzzy. Certainly in the top ten would be "Get A Move On" by Eddie Money, "Mr. Blue Sky" by Electric Light Orchestra, "The End" by The Doors, "The Color Of The Night" by Lauren Christy, "Here In Your Bedroom" by Goldfinger or "Pressure" by Billy Joel.

The problem with my favorite record is that I can't tell if it's my favorite song. I can only find a few amateur recordings on YouTube. But I like them.
