Peter Quaife, original bassist for The Kinks, has passed away.

Quaife quit the band in 1969 due to the internal fighting. He helped form the band Maple Oak, but quit after a year. In 1998 he was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure. To pass the time during dialysis, he drew cartoons, later published as The Lighter Side of Dialysis.

Too bad. Ray Davies was desperately trying to reunite the original Kinks recently who were all alive until now.

Quaife didn't want to do it though, just work with Ray
