Based on what I heard, they don't sound like the lush songs I'm used to from them but I'll reserve judgement until I hear better quality/more.

I listened to the two tracks this morning. Instant disappointment.
Hopefully the rest of the album will be better.

I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed because both songs are good, I'm just a bit underwhelmed. I still hold hope for a brilliant full album.

I really love this band a lot. I still have yet to officially buy their EP and the second album, Neon Bible, but I've known of them for quite a while and always have enjoyed them. Can't wait to hear some new stuff from them!

Suburbs is great. Month of May..........
still completely stoked for this new album. Loved Funeral, Loved Neon Bible, now, release an album that I wont tire of in one week.
honestly, as much as I love those discs, I hardly revist them. I still think they have yet to release their masterpiece. Suburbs anyone?

Guess my definition of "love" is different from yours. Love is a strong word, how can you "love" an album yet barely have a desire to listen to it after a few hours. Seems more like "kind of liking" something. I would never say I "love" a movie but only ever want to see it once. That makes no sense. If you "love" an album, you can't possibly grow tired of it after a few hours.

Neon Bible paled a few months in. Funeral (and, especially, "Wake Up" and "Neighborhoods #1 (Tunnels)") still give me goosebumps just thinking about them.

I liked both songs...IMO Arcade Fire can do no wrong. Can't wait for the album, probably my most anticipated of the year.

Sandinista!? No way. Sandinista was just bloated with too many ideas...not necessarily too many songs. It didn't flow in the same way as London Calling because each song was simply too different.
I don't see that as the case with this new Arcade Fire album. From the four tunes that we've heard so far, it's clear that the band has a strong idea of what they wanted this album to be. I mean, all four of those songs sound like they belong together and I don't feel that the other 12 will be much different.
I wasn't crazy about what we heard at first, but I finding that the more I listen, the more they reveal themselves to be of a great quality. Maybe I'm at that age where I just want well crafted songs without gimmicks...which is the same reason that I'm responding to the new Wolf Parade songs.
And yes, I understand that Clash reference was a joke.

Ready to Start was on this morning. I like it much better than Month of May (really bad song!), but need to listen again to see if it catches me more than Suburbs.

Supposedly, this release will feature 8 different covers. Looks like they're making a play for another Billboard #1.
