If anybody uses Chrome as his browser, there's a site that will take an address you enter (it's supposed to be on the street you grew up on) and generate a video for "We Used to Wait" - http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com/
I haven't seen it because I couldn't get it to work in Firefox or IE, and I don't want to download Chrome just for this. It said it didn't have enough data for my street anyway.

I just finished watching the video. Very interactive, jumbled, and creative. It was actually pretty moving. There's a great moment in the middle when you can draw and type while everything around you is still going on. And when the 'guy' starts running down your street towards the end, its just cool.
Favorite song on the album too, so that can't hurt.

oh and Chrome (which I downloaded a couple days ago) is definitely worth downloading as well
and finally, this record is fantastic (didn't care for either of the first 2)

Pretty good album, but the lyrics are, again, painfully pretentious and the music a little melodramatic. They really need to stop taking themselves so seriously. It's the same complaint I have with Interpol: lighten up guys, you're not John Steinbeck here.
I'd rank this well below Funeral (which still sounds fantastic to me) but above (most of) Neon Bible. It's more consistant than Neon Bible but doesn't hit the (sporatic) highs of that album.

So can you understand?
Why I want a daughter while I'm still young
I wanna hold her hand
And show her some beauty
Before this damage is done
So pretentious

Rock and roll with intelligent lyrics is so pretentious. I guess the Who, Springsteen, Elvis Costello and Bob Dylan should have dumbed down their lyrics too.

I don't get this. If they "lightened up," they wouldn't be Arcade Fire or Interpol. If you don't like a band this serious and dark, why do you even listen to them? It's not as if they suddenly became this way. Their music has been this way since their first release.

I've listened to all the songs a couple dozen times now and stand by my assessment that this is their best album and likely the best album of the year.

The more I listen to this album, the more fantastic it is in my ears. The tracklisting is perfect, and the cuts that stand out hold everything together.
Best tracks: The Suburbs, Rococo, Half Light II, We Used To Wait, Sprawl II. Some of the best music I've heard this year, right there.

I've been listening to this album nonstop for a while now and really can't get enough of it. Definitely better than Neon Bible and is coming close to as good if not better than Funeral for me, but I'll probably have to revisit Funeral before I make that ultimate determination. Still, an incredible album with a lot to offer. Very impressed.

This album just gets better and better. Unlike their other albums, where I would peel away more and more songs and just stick to the few tried and true gems, in this one I want to listen to more of the album as a whole. Absolutely bizarre how they've managed to do this.
