El Dorado will kick all kinds of ass live. I guarantee it.

Here's my Re-EQ'd version of, "El Dorado."
(Some people have complained about the production, but that may be partly due to the bitrate on the mp3, so I decided to improve the frequency range by Re-EQ'ing the song.)
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6zXBEHkpkos&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6zXBEHkpkos&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x2b405b&color2=0x6b8ab6" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I'd love to go to the San Bernardino show, but I'd much rather see them in Irvine.
I'm not familiar with the Glen Helen/San Manuel venue, but I haven't heard anything particularly good about it.
I'm still holding out hope that they play Irvine next year (for the full Final Frontier tour).

It's where the 1982 US Festival was held. I saw RUSH there and although I had great seats I vowed to never go back.

I like that setlist (except for a couple of the older songs). I would prefer
but that's not a deal breaker.
Now I wish I had bought tickets. Oh, well. Maybe on the full Final Frontier tour (if they play near here again)...

I knew that since their last tour was the "Somewhere back in Time" tour, that they wouldn't be playing much older stuff at all this time around.

I could see that setlist being disappointing if it were your first time seeing Maiden live. On the other hand, seeing Maiden playing that set will be a better experience than most bands playing their greatest hits.

I'm not wild about the setlist, but I can see why they'd want to play it in the first place.
I could live the rest of my life without ever hearing Running Free or Iron Maiden again... and I *LOVE* the debut album. I would kill or die to hear deep cuts like "Sun & Steel", "Remember Tomorrow", "Total Eclipse", "Deja Vu", "Only The Good Die Young", "Murders in the Rue Morgue", "Infinite Dreams"...

Re: Iron Maiden - new album and tour
I've always been a fan of this simple formula:
1/3 new stuff
1/3 hits-type stuff
1/3 deep cuts/rare stuff
The band gets to play the new shit so they don’t feel like they are a nostalgia act, the barely-fans get a few singles, and hardcore fans get to hear some different stuff. Everyone goes home happy.

Glad I caught them in Irvine in '08 because I'm definitely not into that set list.
I HATE Glen Helen Pavilion, or whatever it's called now, so I'll wait until they play a more respectable venue before seeing them again.

I saw the show twice (Meadowlands & Sunrise) and didn't hear Infinite Dreams BUT they did play Moonchild, The Clairvoyant, and The Evil That Men Do throughout both shows.

Re: Iron Maiden - new album and tour
Then for not being "The Final Frontier Tour", it sure is called called the wrong thing, since that's the name of the tour.
I went to the kickoff party at Nicko's "Rock N Roll Ribs" local BBQ joint during Memorial Day weekend and got to speak (very!) briefly with the man. While giving him some good-natured grief for not having a local show, he explicitly said that this tour was just a "warmup" for something bigger down the road supporting the album.
Odd but what are you gonna do.
