Re: ROB ZOMBIE: "Hellbilly Deluxe 2"
I'm going to listen to this but I doubt I'll like it.
I LOVED the first Hellbilly Deluxe, just about as much as Astro-Creep (which I like more than Sexorcisto). There were things I liked about Sinister Urge but it seemed neutered. I can't even remember anything off Educated Horses - I think I heard it just the one time.

Just finished the album. I am a big Zombie fan...I actually loved Sinister Urge but I thought EH was terrible. I think this new album is garbage. I actually like the music on this new album, but his lyrics have just become too goofy for my tastes.

Re: ROB ZOMBIE: "Hellbilly Deluxe 2"
I've been listening to HBD2 at work for the last two days and I think it's fantastic. While I don't consider it superior to the previously titled record I appreciate that this one isn't piled with a lot of filler. Each track is an actually song.
There are five songs that I really like. The fact that the lyrics are goofy is why I like this. I'm having fun listening.
I also like the way the booklet is designed as a series of GRINDHOUSEesque posters.
After reading so many negative comments (all of which are very reasonable) I just wanted to say I'm really enjoying HELLBILLY DELUXE 2. I think a lot of this music would play well in a strip joint.

I finally been listening to this the last couple days and I kinda like it, way better than EH. As least this album has more actual songs unlike EH.

So after hating the album on first listen i went to the Mayhem tour and got to check him out live for the first time. Not sure if everyone else just saw bad shows, but he looked like he was in his prime up there. Excellent show, great vocals and stage presence, and pretty cool sets. After seeing him and really liking some of the new songs live i went back and gave the cd a second chance. Enjoying alot more now.

Re: ROB ZOMBIE: "Hellbilly Deluxe 2"
hmm, I wonder if 'Michael' is a cover of Franz Ferdinand's song??
"...so come on dance with me, Michael"
nah, doesn't sound like it probably is =)
