I was trying to not get my hopes up about the possibility of a Rose Bowl DVD, so this is exciting news. I wonder if they plan to give us a few surprises in the set list? I'd love to hear "Electrical Storm" as it's only been played a handful of times this tour.

Hopefully it'll also be on Blu ray.

I would say the chances of a "surprise" song (something not done in the last few shows) as extremely limited.

Look for PHX and Vegas to show us what they will be doing Sunday.

Are you going to be in Vegas, chrisedge? It'll be my fourth U2 show ever (after Zoo TV in K.C., Pop Mart in the LA Coliseum and Vertigo in Anaheim). Really excited about it -- can't wait.

And I certainly hope this concert will be released in high-def. I've got every plenty of U2 DVD concerts, but need me a u2 blu ray.

I've been sick for the past two days but finally feeling better today. I was worried I was going to have to skip the Rose Bowl, but looks like I'm out of the woods . I'm hopeful I will be able to get a good spot near the outer ring.

Loved the Vegas show. Really sounded great and seats, though 26 rows up the bleachers, still close enough to almost justify the $250+ ticket price.

Didn't dig their take on "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight". Also thought there was too much from the new album and not enough pre-Joshua Tree, though I'm sure that's a common complaint.

Disagree. I'm a big U2 fan and this was the worst of 16 shows I've seen over the last 25 years. No spontaneity, no surprises and lots of bombast, gee wiz stage effects and predictable song choices.

What show did you attend? Lots of fans complain about the setlists, and there is NO right way to appeal to "setlist complainers"...(See Decker comments above, as I would prefer MORE new songs, and less 1st three albums, my wish would be for a Pop song or two)

U2 has never been a band about being spontaneous...most of their shows are locked into a sequence, for the screens, etc...add in Bono's/Bands inablility to play most of their catalog without rehearsing songs a bit = Pretty much static setlists. (Although Vertigo Tour had more songs played than most other tours, and by the time this tour is completely over, I bet we will see a similar number)

I'm not a huge U2 fan. I stopped buying their records after Zooropa and have not paid much attention to them since, but they seemed like a band I should really see at least once, so I went to the Sam Boyd show on Friday night. What a show!

I was talking with a friend of mine about how I hadn't cared for most of their recent stuff. His response: "That's because they don't write music that necessarily sounds good on the radio anymore. They write music that sounds amazing in football stadiums." He's right.

I have to admit. I'm usually a bit of an indie music snob who insists that club shows are always superior to arena/stadium shows. However, the last two concerts I've seen are two of the best that I've ever seen - U2 and Def Leppard.

chrisedge: What did you think of the show from the expensive seats? Was it easier to watch the show than down in the mosh pit?

Re: U2 360° North American Tour
Any tips on getting tickets? Is it worth the $50 to join their website and be able to buy during the presale? Or is it just better to wait for the public sale?

Ya know, I really should see them at least once... I've never really seen a big musical event/concert like this.... I usually go to the smaller venues. How far in advance do tix usually go on sale?

Well, I was in celebrity central, so they were pretty boring. Sat down for some of the songs... The view was much better, because it's tiered, but I will be trying for the pit again on June 6th!

Re: U2 360° North American Tour
I definitely didn't get into the Inner Circle since I got to the Rose Bowl pretty late, but for getting in the GA lineup at around 4pm, when I got inside I still managed to get right next to the base of one of the support stage legs on Adam's side of the stage. Had a nice strong barricade to lean on the whole show and only had occasional view obstructions due to the boom cameras going back and forth. While the show was good, I think I wasn't as thrilled with the song selection this time around. Regardless, the guys certainly do know how to put on one hell of a show. I'll definitely be getting tickets for the Anaheim show in June.

If you're in the fan club, they'll be on sale soon...

U2's show for the past 20 years at least has been one to be reckoned with. Each time I see them, they just keep getting more entertaining.

Qwest Field in Seattle is a great place for a show this size. The Stones played there a couple years ago, and it was insane.

Thank god Muse opened at the show I went to. I don't think I could take more than 5 minuets of the Black Eyed Fleas.
