Stryper's New Album Getting Rave Reviews

Stryper has released a new album, and it is getting awesome reviews. I didn't care for their previous release, "Reborn". Too crunchy, no guitar solos, generic stuff, but I'm really excited for their new stuff. Here is a bit from one review:

The new album, set to be released early this year has seen much
delay due to lead singer, Michael Sweet's wife's battle with cancer. It
is a mature album, from veteran rockers, but it is a timely album that
is brimming with excellence. One might expect an album of this nature
to be filled with well, filler, but each song has a purpose and a loud,
melodic purpose at that. "Murder By Pride" is perhaps the most
forward-thinking song on the album, recalling sounds reminiscent of
somewhere between GN'R's new track "Chinese Democracy" and classic
Metallica. The song has the anthemic, stadium rock sound that gets you
charged-up, but is very tight and well executed. I absolutely love the
dual-guitar solos. Stryper's dual-guitar solos are such works of art
that have never been out-done in Metal. The harmonic extent and mastery
that Michael Sweet and Oz Fox have together would be near impossible to
duplicate.
Just what I love. Great rock with dual guitar solos. It's what makes Ratt's Round and Round sound so good, and early Queensryche featured dual guitar. But the 90's killed 80's hair metal and guitar solos. I think it is quite an accomplishment that Stryper is still around producing great stuff when almost every other 80's hair metal band died out. They never got respect from the metal community in the 80's, but they deserve it now.

Sadly, I couldn't find this album anywhere in stores. Had to order it online and now waiting a week for it.

How about from a non-religious bias? Even the last link you have is 'fan' reviews heavily tilted to the god quotient.

Two of my favorite albums from the 80s and hoping to see them in concert later this year!

The clips I heard all sounded very ballad-oriented. If he ain't busting out some "To Hell with the Devil"-style falsettos and badass guitar solos I'm not buyin'!

I agree that their ballads are easily their weakest songs. Though, I must admit I do enjoy in the Honestly video where they drive past the band member in their limo. I also like the part of the Honestly video where the drummer is using his hands. So corny.

Loved Soldiers Under Command. I'll keep an eye on this new release
but I won't buy it until I hear some good songs from it first.
