I can name a ton of punk bands, but I think there are three that I would think are likely to leap to the mind of the average person who is not a fan of punk. But we can discuss this further when the Bus reveals the answers.

I would say KISS and punk both draw from the same traditions (in particular, I think without the New York Dolls, we wouldn't have either). But I don't think I'd say that without punk, there would be no KISS (or vice versa).
