MEGADETH PERFORMS 'MY LAST WORDS' IN SAN FRANCISCO
Well, last night was fun. Lars asked us to play "My last words" 2 minutes before we went onstage-And being as we have never even rehearsed that tune with this lineup and Megadeth hasn't played that tune since 2005 in the land of OZ, I think we pulled it off rather well. Don't worry though, next time Metallica comes to where I live, I will return the favor and ask them DURING their show to play the most obscure tune they haven't played in years!!!Baaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa All kidding aside, that was actually really fun to just wing it and enjoy the moment. I hope the crowd did enjoy it as well.
As you would fathom for San Fran, lots of musicians backstage and mingling to be had-All fun stuff and a good night was had by all. Life doesn't suck, humans.
I am more Metal than you.
Shawn

Rust In Peace Live DVD/Blu-Ray/CD Details Thread
The final night of Megadeth’s historic month-long Rust In Peace 20th anniversary tour has been captured for the upcoming Rust In Peace Live Blu-ray, DVD and CD, due out September 7 on Shout! Factory. On March 31, 2010, at this incredibly special show at the legendary Hollywood Palladium, not far from where Dave Mustaine formed the band in 1983.
Megadeth played their landmark, genre-defining 1990 Rust In Peace album in its entirety, in addition to other Megadeth favorites. Rust In Peace Live also marks the return of original bassist David Ellefson (Megadeth 1983-2002) to the iconic multi-platinum group after eight years. Ellefson (bass), joins Mustaine (lead vocals, guitar), Shawn Drover (drums) and Chris Broderick (guitar).

Rust In Peace Live features the entire Rust In Peace track listing, including all-time classics “Holy Wars...The Punishment Due” and “Hangar 18” along with bonus fan favorites from various other Megadeth releases such as “Symphony For Destruction,” “Peace Sells,” and “Skin O’ My Teeth.”
Megadeth founder/frontman/guitarist Dave Mustaine explains, “We are pumped to be able to share the RIP Live concert with you all around the world. The anniversary and David Ellefson coming back was better than a facelift and a bottle of Viagra for old Vic.”
The 80-minute Rust In Peace Live DVD (5.1 Dolby Surround 16:9 Widescreen) and Blu-ray (5.1 DTS Master Audio 1080p High Definition) were directed by Kerry Asmussen (Green Day, Jay-Z, Coachella). The DVD and Blu-ray will also include behind-the-scenes footage, including a rare glimpse of the band rehearsing in their dressing room as they prepare to take the stage.
Rust In Peace is considered one of the best metal albums of all time by fans and critics and debuted at #23 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart in the U.S. and #8 in the U.K. The album showcased a much tighter sound, with Mustaine's writing style adopting a rhythmically complex progressive edge, prompting All Music Guide to cite Rust In Peace as "Megadeth's strongest musical effort.” The album received Grammy nominations in 1990 and 1991 for "Best Metal Performance." Emphasizing the massive impact of Rust In Peace in the July 2010 issue of Guitar World, writer Richard Bienstock calls it “one of the pinnacles of the first wave of thrash metal.” He continues, “A defining quality of Megadeth’s sound—and the one that perhaps most sets them apart from their ‘Big Four’ thrash brethren, Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax—has always been the band’s fiery mix of speed-metal ferocity and progressive instrumental virtuosity…nowhere has this combination been displayed better than on Rust In Peace.”

NEW MEGADETH ALBUM IN THE WORKS AT VIC'S GARAGE
Dave Mustaine dropped by the Megadeth Cyber Army chat room yesterday (Tuesday, Nov 16) for a special live chat with his fan club members. The following is an excerpt from the chat. DM: "So, right now I have Ken Eisennagel, you may remember him from the last two records doing engineering for all of the pre-production phases of Megadeth records? Well, he is here [Megadeth’s studio - Vic's Garage] going over all of the new Megadeth stuff that I am working on… believe it or not we have five songs almost finished for the new Megs record already!"

Sounds great, just drop all the political crap and I'm sure it'll be awesome.
Oh, and more hooks. Last album was Shred Central, but it lacked the hooks Megadeth can produce.

February 4, 2011 - DAVE MUSTAINE COMMENTS ON PERFORMING ENTIRE 'PEACE SELLS' ALBUM
2011 marks the 25th anniversary of Megadeth's second album, "Peace Sells… But Who's Buying?!" So will the band tour behind that as well like they did for the 20th anniversary of "Rust In Peace" last year? Dave Mustaine told VH1 Radio Networks' Dave Basner, "We've already had people talk to us about doing that and I told our manager that I'm totally interested in doing 'Peace Sells' for a 25th anniversary this year but I don't want to do it all year like we did with 'Rust in Peace'. I want to do it towards the end of the year. So we'll do the whole year doing our thing and then come around October, where the end of the year is, you've got a quarter of the year left, October, November and December, where we can do the 'Peace Sells' thing."
