You can really tell that "Messing With My Head" was written or co-written by the guy who wrote "That Thing You Do" (the song). And, of course, it was. (Adam Schlesinger)
It's got the same type of melodies and is instantly infectious. Damn, but that's a good song! I may have to pick this up.

I really like this record - it's power pop that is really well executed...ie. a great summer record and nearly all of it is SOLID, not like a lot of pop albums that are front loaded with 3 singles and 8 filler tracks.

No kidding, why would any of those guys want to perform with a Smashing Pumpkins dude? In all seriousness, he's actually sort of the odd person out if you consider past recordings. I see nothing wrong at all with these two posted songs. Then, I'm a sucker for late 70's/early 80's-sounding skinny tie power pop.

Looks they are touring this summer, just picked up tix to see them at the Paradise in Boston in early August. I like this album - it's not gonna change the world, but it is really good power pop!
