I get spin, blender and rolling stone for free, THANKS DVD TALK!, and they all end up just pissing me off most the time. They seem more like tabloid b.s. than anything relating to music.
Are there any good music magazines? I know for film magazines the U.S. magazines suck but empire from the UK is pretty good and it's from the uk. So wondering if that's the same.

Classic Rock Magazine from the UK.
I get them every now and then from Borders.
It's the only place that I know that carries it.
It's a bit more expensive $10 but it is imported so I guess I have to expect that.
and the $10 price is worth it to me. It's the only mag that i'll buy.
Sometimes it'll come with a DVD or mostly a cd.

I buy a lot of magazines, here is a list of them below:
Supscriptions
Alarm
Death + Taxes
Filter
Magnet
Paste
Rolling Stone
Spin
Under The Radar
URB
XLR8R
Buy Every Month
Clash
Classic Rock
MOJO
Q
Uncut
Buy When They Come Out (Not Published Monthly)
Big Takeover
Shindig!
Skyscraper
Buy Sometimes
Blender
Froots
Living Blues
Mixmag
Waxpoetics
Wonkavision
The Word
A number magazines including Harp, No Depression, and Relix have stopped, at least physical magazines.
I am sure that there are others I have at least sampled, but they are in boxes right now.
It just really depends on what you are looking for.

As a couple have stated already, I receive Classic Rock (a gift sub) and will also pick up Mojo from time to time. Honestly I have never looked at Q and will check it out the next time I see it on a shelf. It may be due to who they put on the cover.

The best music magazines are from the UK: Mojo, Uncut and Classic Rock. It's a pity they're so expensive, as is one of the best film magazines, Sight and Sound.
