Video quality is amazing and it was shot with just a digital camera, not a camcorder.

Amazing does no justice to this guys vids! how in world did he get in with that camera?

I saw them in Toronto on July 24th - it was a great show. All members were in fine form. They played a 2+ hour set, mixing new stuff with old fav's and some surprises (like Master & Servant).

Was a good show.

I saw them at Nissan Pavillion in Virginia on the 28th. They were simply awesome although Dave seemed to be having trouble keeping his pants from slipping ;)

Master and Servant was simply awesome live. My wife and I also loved the 'toe sucking' backdrop for StrangeLove.

We were supposed to see them a couple tours ago but ended up not being able to go so this concert was a long time coming.

Couldn't believe the price of t-shirts though - first time I've ever skipped on that part of the experience (although I did get one at Progressive Nation 2009 on Saturday :D )

How much were the shirts?

SuperMallet:

Keep in mind I haven't been to a concert in 10 years :D The last time I bought a shirt they were $20 so I had a bit of sticker shock when the shirts were $45-$60 a piece. I didn't much like the official tour t-shirt and I figured I could get a DM shirt for cheaper after the concert if I wanted one.

However, I did feel compelled to put down $35 for the tour shirt on Progressive Nation. It's quite colorful and that appeals more to me.

I still enjoyed the hell out of the concert though. It's tough to go see the concerts I want though because a lot of acts are bypassing Detroit now in favor of Toronto, Chicago, or Cleveland.

What?! $45-$60 for shirts? That is absolutely insane. Usually I see shirts for $20 to $30 at the highest. Are you sure they weren't hoodies or something?

If I recall, t-shirts were $45 in Toronto.

Which is why we didn't get one.

Probably shot with one of the new Panasonic Digital Cameras that shoots in HD. Lots of U2 videos are being done with it...

Look at the quality of this. Esp Bono close ups..

I can confirm, shirts did indeed start at $40.00 And yes, that is insane. Didn't stop people from purchasing them and everything else up though. Both booths in D.C. had five long lines at each.

To Nyko: about the show....They look and sounded great, and great energy, but I'm deeply deeply disappointed in the setlist. For the first time ever, they didn't do that many songs off their new album. I believe they did seven from "Playing the Angel" in 2005. This time, only four. And oddly, "Peace" and Perfect" weren't two of them. I'm also so tired of them playing most of the singles off "SOFAD" tour after tour. Seriously, it's been at least four of them since 1992. Enough already. There are so many other DM singles that they continue to ignore. Also, other songs that desperately need a break are "A Question of Time", "Home" and "Policy of Truth". All fantastic tracks, just overdone. How about digging deeper in their catalogue? I personally wouldn't mind hearing "New Life" or "Dreaming of Me", "Something to Do", "Lie to Me", "Get the Balance Right", "Here is the House", "The Things You Said" (and NOT acoustic), "Blue Dress" (also not acoustic), "Mercy in You", "I Feel Loved". Last, "It's No Good" is back and sounds 1000% better live than it did from the 1998 and 2001 tours. Also, "Precious" is back again for this tour. But is just as underwhelming live this time around as last. It's such and amazing studio song. But it's so slow and boring in concert. Really a shame.

I haven't looked at the setlists, but I'm guessing the chances of hearing Shake The Disease or It's Called A Heart are pretty much nil.

Yeah, don't get too excited. And even if they did do "Shake the Disease", that would be acoustic too. Enough of that shit already.

Re: New Depeche Mode

Since it was my first time at a DM show, I was reasonably happy with the setlist although I wish they'd have done less audience call&response with "A Question of Time" since that's my favorite track. I love SOFAD and really wish they'd have played Rush instead of what they did play - I just think that song is sexy as hell. I was really surprised that they didn't play half the new album - seems like the type of thing you do if you don't have confidence in your work;/

I definitely want to go again though - the guys had a lot of energy and there were a lot of people dancing the whole time. I can't do that though - had to sit down a couple times because of my back.

Re: New Depeche Mode

At MSG last night, they did 5 from the new album. I think the most they've done is 6 but for some reason "In Sympathy" got dropped for "Policy of Truth" after Dave came back from the surgery. I've been watching the videos from the tour and "Peace" hasn't been sounding too good, especially with Dave trying too hard to get the crowd involved, so I could see why it's been dropped for the U.S. so far. Precious doesn't sound good live. I could see why certain songs from SOFAD are used often because they do sound great live and are more rockish, but I think Martin could change his songs every tour since they're slow songs away. He already did "Home" and "Question of Lust" last time.

Re: New Depeche Mode

Don't get me wrong, all the songs from "SOFAD" sounded GREAT on this tour. In fact, "I Feel You", which has never been a favorite of mine, has never sounded better. I'm just tired of hearing the songs off this album. When I saw this show in D.C., I went with four people who had never seen DM before and they were just blown away. Three claiming it was the best concert they had ever seen. It was my 15th DM show, so I'm more critical and jaded than most ;) Regarding "Peace", I know a few people who have seen a few shows in Europe and everyone said it was fantastic live. Now, if the audience didn't respond enthusiastically, then I can see whey it was dropped. They sound tested "In Sympathy" in NYC for their Monday night show, but for some reason they didn't play it. Bummer. Would have love to have heard that. I went to that show, and I saw and met the British synth pop group La Roux in the hallway afterwards. They were very nice and I got a few pictures with them. I also scored a VIP backstage pass after the show, La Roux were there too. Fletch came in but didn't take pics or talk to fans like Martin did. Dave didn't show at all. No surprise. He rarely hangs with the others after the show. And being in NYC, I'm sure he went straight home. The resting of the touring band were also there as well as Jonathan Kessler and Daniel Miller. Anyway, the NYC show was electric. Great night!

Re: New Depeche Mode

Here's the setlist for the show I just saw:

In Chains
Wrong
Hole To Feed
Walking In My Shoes
It's No Good
A Question Of Time
Precious
Fly On The Windscreen
Little Soul
A Question Of Lust
Miles Away / The Truth Is
Policy Of Truth
In Your Room
I Feel You
Enjoy The Silence
Never Let Me Down Again

Encore #1
Shake The Disease
Stripped
Behind The Wheel

Encore #2
Personal Jesus
Waiting For The Night (Bare Version)

Pretty great, except that In Your Room brought the show to a screeching halt, and I would have taken Strangelove over Behind The Wheel. But hearing Martin sing Shake The Disease was really fantastic.

Edit: Unless I missed it on one of the previous setlists, this is only the second time they've done Miles Away on the tour, and the first time they've done Shake The Disease this tour.

If by "he" you mean Dave, he sounded very good, except for Fly On The Windscreen and In Chains where he sounded slightly off.
