Ok, the recent 'hatred of gym music' thread made me wonder what everyone LIKES to listen to. Whether it's bone-crushing metal to pump you up for a day of free weights, or something a little more mellow to waste time doing cardio. What gets you going?

I do a lot of free weight work, so most of my selections are intended to melt my face off. That being said, the following albums are kept in constant rotation on my ipod:

For hard-hitting days:

Amon Amarth: Pretty much their entire catalog. It makes me feel like I can crap hellfire and forge steel with my bare hands.

DevilDriver: The Fury of our Maker's Hand

Megadeth: Rust in Peace (Best. Thrash. Album. Evar.)

Slayer: Reign in Blood

Nailbomb: Point Blank

Behemoth: The Apostasy

For most other days I mix it up with tracks from Electric Wizard, Earthless, The Sword, Mastodon, AC/DC, Wolves in the Throne Woom, Ulver...

Metal or Hard Rock when I'm at the gym.. but sometimes I like to listen to something a little more mellow (something I can sing in my head or something that reminds me of something or someone else) just to take my mind off what I'm doing.

Opeth (the heavy parts )

well, I'm not into metal like some of you whatsoever but when I'm at the gym I tend to like the harder stuff as well..but for me, the 'harder' stuff would be classified as:

Marilyn Manson (Golden Age of Grotesque is best album I've ever listened to at the gym)
Rob Zombie
Muse
Scars on Broadway
NIN type stuff

but also a lot of electronic - stuff a bit more beat based than say, Depeche Mode or The Killers...

I don't really care to listen to one of their albums straight through in one sitting, but I get jacked whenever a Slipknot track shuffles in when my iPod is on random....

Muse although I still get pumped from listening to C&C Music Factory

It's just one song, but The Prodigy's remix of Method Man's "Release Yo Delf" always gets me all pumped up.

I have to listen to Metal or anything pretty close to it like Thin Lizzy, UFO.
Most of the time it's some heavy gutair Gary Moore riffs stuff.
Add in some Overkill and Rebel Meets Rebel, Megadeth, old Pantera- Cowboys From Hell
I'll even take it down, but not out a bit with some old Southern style Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot or Outlaws just to mix things up a bit
and i'm ready to burst out.

I'll say that the Donnas "Spend the Night" starts hard and fast and doesn't let up. Good music for speeding in your car.
